I have an old Blackberry that is slowly dying. I have never owned an iPhone. Are they worth the price? Pros, cons?

I'm biased... I've used iTunes & various iPods for years... iPod Touch was basically an iPhone so was a simple choice for me.

Worth it in my opinion. I love the fingerprint sensor on my 5S! I assume other android-based phones like the Galaxy have similar now although I honestly don't know.

You should be able to try one out in an Apple store if you have one near you. If not I'm sure a mobile phone shop will let you try one.

I can't really think of any obvious cons other than the price tag. It mostly comes down to aesthetics & whether you prefer iOS or Android.

I'm sure for some there are cons though, but I'm very happy with mine.

Thanks Loial. I plan on heading to the Apple Store. I heard its best to get 32 GB or higher? Apparently OS updates gobble up memory. I don't tend to store thousands of photos or ton of apps on phones

I'm an android lover personally because they always had phones at the lower price point I could, or would ever want to pay for a phone. I just lost my old android phone last month in a 2 hour period of time on my farm while mowing the field & haven't found it yet. Just bought a new one last Saturday. Refuse to pay over $200 for a phone. With the androids anything with 32GB starts at $400+ so I stuck with 16GB. I lost a lot of photos....some at the very end before loosing it. I had them all on my sd card if I ever find the phone. Newer phones don't seem to have SD card slots which I don't like because I like to be able to hold what has my photos on it. I take so many transferring them to DVD isn't time feasible.

Price is my main reason for going android. We get comfortable using whatever platform we have IMO. They all basically have the same functions & for me, price is a criticle factor.

I have a 16GB with a few hundred photos, one or two videos, a fair few apps but mostly music. Of course, I have over 40GB of music on my computer so I only have a relatively small selection on my phone even converted down to lower bit rate.

It's definitely too small for me but I make do. I've got a feeling that 32GB isn't an option on any of the current iPhones for some inexplicable reason but yes, that would be a safe option!

I think some iOS updates require 500MB-1GB of space that I've noticed, so yeah you do need a reasonable amount spare to install them, but it's only temporary.

If you plan on taking any videos, or downloading any videos on your phone... then they will use a lot of space.

You might well be able to get away with 16GB, it just depends on what you want to use the phone for.

I think I am planning on getting an iPhone SE when my current contract expires. I took out a 1 year sim only contract for like half the cost of my original contract, so had my phone 2.5 years so far... only problem I've had was needing the contacts cleaned a few months ago when it wasn't charging properly, but of course that was done for free in an Apple store!

Most phone companies don't offer contracts any longer from my understanding. They ended up costing people more than the phone was worth because the payment didn't end once the cost of the phone was covered

eskielover, I noticed some of the androids have a range of prices which is good. I like the option of an sd card to expand storage. I'll look at both phones..iPhone and android.

Loial thanks for the information. 16 gb may be enough for my usuage. I may look at the SE 64 GB too.

I just got a Samsung Galaxy s7 and the screen is gorgeeeeous! But I miss my old hard stylus that I used to use on my treo which was like a blackberry. This is my 3rd smartphone in about nine years. I keep them about half as long as I used to keep my cars

Unaluna, I'm jealous! And disappointed. I swear...the day after I bought the S6, there was a commercial on television about the S7. I can never be current. Lol

I just like the psych central screen and it lets you adjust the light on the kindle reader. Otherwise I hate the icons and the overall look! They look like kindergarten!

I am a die hard apple lover but decided to switch to the samsung galaxy s6. The main reason is because I have a hard time hearing people on the iphone. I thought i would lose all my music but I found a way to transfer music to my android so it hasn't worked out that bad. I liked also that the samsung was a little bit bigger.

I have been a strict android lover for years now .. Galaxy all the way ..... and then...

It started getting all glitchy and of course the battery wasn't really holding a good charge ( I swear they program the batteries to slug out around upgrade period )

I was just going to flip to a Galaxy 6... But.......

I saw the Iphone 6s plus.. Its so sleek and sexy and camera??? World class pics !

I find the Iphone is just generally easier to use. I had no trouble making the transition sooner..

I Phone for life!
