The first tattoo thread has me wondering how many tattoos do you all have? For me, it was an excruciatingly painful experience, but they are addicting! Mine are all small but I have five. A lotus flower on the inside of my left wrist, the typical Chinese tattoo for queen on my right ankle (it's been verified that it is correct!), a scorpion on my back as well as the happy and sad theatrical masks on my upper back, and I got a matching tattoo with my bestie of cherry blossoms and the Japanese character for friendship on my left ankle.
I apologize if this thread has been posted before...
Thanks for this!

I have three. I have a ship on my right upper arm.
I have an old school mermaid with my GF's name on my left upper arm
and I have an anchor on my left forearm.
I will soon be getting a lighthouse on my right forearm.
I would love to do a full back piece but my GF is not into it.

I have 5. I got them when I was 18 and now I'm 52.

After being on my arms for 34 years I don't even notice them anymore.
Thanks for this!

I think this is a bipolar thing to do. I know my own health and impulsivity at the time was behind getting mine. But, I have no regrets. They are badges of battles won.

I only have three but they are huge. Both my chest and entire back are covered, yet they are still very feminine. If I had the money I would get lower sleeves.

Idk, my sister is a few tips ahead of me which she has "just because."
Or is it a bipolar thing for you, personally?

I have NONE & no interest in getting any. I like my artwork in the wall, not on my body.

Next week I am going to set up an appointment for my next tattoo.
Its going to be a light house in the American traditional style.
I can't wait. I should be able to have it done around the end of May.

Don't have any. I thought about getting one, but at 62 I have "old lady skin" = crepey and saggy. I figured no one would be able to tell what the tattoo was if I got one.

I have 5 and want so many more!
I tend to get tattooed when I'm in depressed phases, and what I get put on me is usually what I'm obsessed with at that time.
I only have one that I even questioned while I was getting it done. It's a zombie woman on my chest and I forgot to tell the tattoo artist to take the S off the end of the text below is, so it says "living dead girlS" which, now that I think about it, seems pretty appropriate considering I seem like 2 different people depending on whether I'm in a manic or depressive phase. :P My only regret, really, is that I didn't have the tattoo designed specifically for me. Instead I found a picture on Pinterest and went with it, so the tattoo feels generic. Still, I like it. It's different than what you see on most people.

My other tattoos are:
- Morten Harket from a-ha on the inside of my left forearm.
- A name tattoo on my left wrist for 2 young girls who went missing and were later found murdered (there's a strange story behind this one that I won't go into)
- Marilyn Monroe on my right forearm.
- A Sun and Moon with a pentagram on my right calf.

I have 2, and neither one was all that painful. Actually, my shoulder tattoo didn't hurt at all and I almost fell asleep while getting it done. The one on my foot only hurt in certain spots, but overall wasn't a very painful experience.

My foot tattoo is a quill with "let it be" preceding it, like the quill wrote it, and the quill goes up my ankle.

My shoulder one is a tree with some foliage but not full with a bird flying away from it.

I thought long and hard about both of my tattoos before getting them (though less long for my second, mostly because I held off on my first because of my mother's view of tattoos, and since I already had one, what was another?) Both of them have meaning to me, and there's no way I would want to get rid of either one.

I want a third, but I'm too poor as of right now, so that's on the back burner.

I have two swallows on my wrist and an anchor on my ankle. I'm saving up for another one on my back and quite fancy one on my foot but I need to think about what to have. Also, my ankle one hurt a lot and apparently feet are worse. But it's very addictive, if I could afford to I'd have lots more
