When signing papers to go to probate if you do not sign the paper to make a person administrator does that mean when things are settled that you will not get any money? Do you have to sign papers at the end of probate ? If you do not sign them do you just not get any money? There are four people involved so do all four have to sign for it to be final?

Why would you not sign it? Failure to sign is a form of protest.

There was only one person listed and this person has not paid any of the bills. I was told I had to sign or I would not get any money. There are four of us all together. This person said that it could go with just the other two signing the papers but I would not get any money at all.

So what is stopping you from signing?

I signed but I was told I did not have a choice in signing for this person who has not paid the bills or helped out any at all to be the administrator of our fathers estate.

probate simply means to validate the will. It should go ahead - depending on where you live - and the estate be distributed as the wll dictated it.
Depending on where you live, things like creditors and shared businesses take precedence over dispersal of the estate. Also, tax laws differ so expect that too to affect the end result. |
