It's a good movie. Of course as you may know it's time is the 60s... so be prepared for the young teens in the audience to be laughing AT it as much as WITH.
 The songs are paradies and clever. It is a musical comedy, btw.

Have you seen the original, by John Waters? It's fabulous, too, but not a musical (but it does have a lot of music). The star of the movie was Ricki Lake (as Tracy Turnblatt), whereas in the musical, it appears John Travolta is the star. I am dying to see this movie!

Yeah, I looked her up on IMDb yesterday. She's had a few roles, but not many. I should say, the character's name is "Tracy Turnblad," not blatt. I always make that mistake, lol! Some people have made some rude comments on IMDb about the actress' weight (and I'm sorry to say, I've forgotten her name already), but I was happy to see many people defended her.
