I don't hate summer, just hate the heat. Especially here where it's humid heat. Love the long days and sunshine though. Love watching the birdies out the window. I have the AC turned to 80 or 82 to save on bills and it's mostly comfortable. ( it 100 putside and the AC reduces humidity so the difference is notable) with cold you can always put more clothes on but there's only so much you can take off, especially in public. The shirts I gotta wear to work are horrible, polyester and dark blue! I hate heat! But jalapeños are great!

I love the summer - wilderness - but this heat in the city just stinks. It doesn't move anywhere.

Can't take the heat and humidity with my meds. I'm very heat-sensitive because of them. I stay indoors and grimace at the electric bill. It's hot here nearly year-round.

The only exception is being Oceanside at the beach. Love the breeze. Can't afford it anymore. Had to sell condo when I divorced....but I loved it when I had it.

Same here the summer is the worst. The heat us unbearable. I've sat with a fan on me all day and the second I turn it of I'm roasting again. At least in the winter you can regulate temperature easily.

I want rain, hail, snow and sleet of biblical proportion!
Thanks for this!

I am dying right now from the heat. I sit outside for some relief, (it is 10:00 p.m.) but there is not a breeze to be found. I am just dripping sweat and getting heat rashes. I♡winter!

Where I live in the south, people say they "miss all the seasons" when they come here. Well, we have 4 seasons: Almost Summer, Summer, Still Summer, and Deer Season.

In Summer, you can brand yourself with the clip on your seat belt. You have to use a windshield screen and put a towel over your steering wheel if you want to be able to touch it. Both taps are hot water. The Asphalt on the roads turn to liquid. You can fry an egg on the sidewalk and wrap a potato in foil and place it on your hood. Glory be, did w/o A/C at a young age here, but have had A/C since the 1970s. No way I could go w/o A/C in home, at work, and in the automobile. I don't believe you can go to a dealership here and buy a car without A/C. And it really is much hotter than it used to be, looking at historical statistics.

And why is electricity so high anyway? It went up during the surge in gasoline prices and other energy sources, but it has not come down a bit as energy prices have fallen dramatically. What's with that?

Rant over.

Sorry for those of you living in areas where A/C is less common, but it used to not be so hot as it is currently and you generally were able to do without it "back then", I'm assuming. Here's to lower heating costs during winter for ya.
Thanks for this!

I'm very fortunate to have AC & I count that as a blessing Bec I know the heat makes my family grouchy.

I like summer & it being warm, but when it gets unbearable, that's a pain. Then the problem of having my kids home all summer...& my husband. We're all on top of each other.
Summer is expensive with kids as stated above when it comes to entertaining them. Camps r outrageously expensive & I know they'd really love to go! That makes things hard $$$

Then my husband constantly tells the kids to go outside & play! This really irritates me Bec I don't wanto go out either! And yeah hate to say it...there's not much for them to do either. But I do understand my husband feeling like a bad parent Bec the kids stay inside or get on a screen to play a game.

Then it comes down to me entertaining them somehow...like I'm Julie the Cruise Director for the day & here's our list of activities!!!!! Yuck!

I have chores & projects I'd like to do. My husband has things he wants to do too & sometimes to get them done....we say it's ok to sit in front of a screen! Yup bad parenting I know.
I'm just too tired & really sick of it!

Ok rant over.

Anyone else hate this heat?

It's very hot and humid here. We have the a/c running 24/7. I wouldn't be able to sleep if I was hot. I'm heat-sensitive due to my meds, as well. I spend a lot of time indoors it's so hot. I commiserate. xo

I hate the heat and humidity. But I think I hate the snow, ice, and freezing
cold weather in winter even more. At least in summer I don't have to shovel
snow and worry about having a car accident because of the slippery roads.

Summer sucks....i would take the cold any day over this sticky gross mess...no releif except somewhere air conditioned. Then you get that stuffy nose from being in the air conditioning then to the hot and humid weather. I have one air conditioner in my bedroom which I call the "cooling center". But itbis impossible to stay there all da y long. Forget it if you work in a place with no a/c then stuck in traffic and get sunburned through the windshield. Then it cools down a little at night and all the bugs eat you alive. So back inside in the inferno. Can't cook either...I think this is a taste of hell....

Summer was always my least favorite season. Too hot to exercise outside after 10am, bugs everywhere, and worst fashion! I miss seeing people in boots, jeans, and all kinds of sweaters

I hate, hate, hate the heat! I hate it!!! Thankfully I live in a dry climate because I couldn't take the humidity on top of the scorching heat. Give me a snowy winter day over summer anytime!

It's monsoon season in Arizona. Yeah, I thought ppl were high when I first heard that term, too.
Nawp.

Tis really f'real real. Monsoons + desert = flash floods. Oh glory.
We live in the high country, but Crazyman's mom is in Phoenix and they've had a couple real messes -- people WILL try to drive thru 8 feet of water cause they "couldn't tell how deep it was!!" (no Der.) Plus it's also been a zillion degrees there, as usual. Now that, I srsly could NOT take. Mom already says she lives like a mole in summer.

Mighty nice in winter tho! hate cold.

How about: I DISAPPROVE OF DISCOMFORT?

lol

But in the Eastern part, like in Spokane, it gets MUCH hotter in the summer and much colder in the winter than in his area, cause of the Cascades mountain range. All the heat (or cold) gets trapped in that part like being in a canyon.

I live in eastern europe so it's really gloomy, rainy and not hot at all. I still hate summer because I have body image problems, I want to go to beach, wear shorts and dresses, but can't do it without terrible anxiety. So I can't enjoy summer at all.
