I dunno about favorite, but I loved those rolled, circular licorice things. Also, Polos, Dream Bars, tangy Haribo sweets, and... um... Kit-Kat Chunkys were pretty awesome.

I'm a bit of a chocolate snob. I much prefer continental chocolate to the national favourite Cadburys. Too little cocoa and too sweet. Sweets (candy) seemed to be much nicer when I was a kid. Maybe you look back with rose tinted glasses, or should that be sugar coated taste buds.

Believe it or not, back in the day in the uk there was a box of chocolates in a bar. It was called a milk tray bar and I remember it fondly. Google image 'milk tray bar'. Also there was a dairy box bar but I don't remember that.

Just seeing this thread is making me want jelly beans. I got frozen yogurt last night but didn't put any jellybeans on it. I should have.

My mum made the best toffee and fudge and treacle toffee. She made coconut ice, sometimes pink and white and sometimes green and white. She also made brazil nut toffee which ended up in my brother taking a trip to the emergency section as he had firmly lodged one of the nuts up his nose.

I remember doing the toffee test by putting a small amount of the toffee into a dish of cold water. If it went hard then it was ready.
