I bought this film for the 5 year old twin grandsons when I was in Louisville...It was on a sale rack at Walmart for $5.
I had owned it before when my daughter was young, and Dudley Moore's narration alone is well worth watching it! I have heard disturbing accounts, though, that many cats died in the making of this Japanese film. This is disturbing, and so I just did some research on the web, and much of it says this is an "urban legend," and that no animals were harmed. Has anyone else here heard that animals were harmed? OH, and by the way, the twins loved it! Patty |

My kids have this one. I bought it a while back after it was highly recommended to me by a friend. . .who happens to be a rather active animal rights activist here in the states. I'd imagine, if there were issues, she would have probably known? Maybe? Possibly?
