I have long thick hair and I wash it 3 days a week. It doesn't look greasy or smell. I don't wet my hair if I don't wash it but mostly because it is such a chore to get dry.
Thanks for this!

I have multiethnic hair, (so an afro) and basically, I HAVE to wash my hair with only conditioner.

Shampoo dries out my hair and damages it, unless I use a natural baby shampoo, which doesn't really do much to "clean" my hair
Thanks for this!

I hate to wash my hair now, whereas I used to wash it every other day. I maybe wash it once a week.I have used shampoo my beautician recommended (and sold me, of course) and it works well for dryness. I think shampoo is better to use and wouldn't think just water would be effective. But I don't think it would affect the smell!

And, yes, people in the hospital use powder when they can't wash their hair. It wouldn't cause ovarian cancer if just used on the hair and kept from going much lower on the body.
(Note: Pardon me if I repeated what others have said.)
Thanks for this!

Oops. I don't know how I managed two posts. Sorry. The second one is longer.

I have quite long hair and I wash it two or three times a week. But mostly cause of living in the city. Not sure why, but when I am spending prolonged time in the countryside... it does not get gross so fast and once a week is enough.

I shower daily (of course), sometimes more then once a day (bored or anxious showering), so I just put my hair up with a clip.

My hair take forever to dry and I don't like using hairdryer. I didn't even own one for a long time, until my mom got me one ("if you need to wash and dry your hair fast").

I wash my hair every 3-4 days. It's dry so it doesn't get oily as fast.

I like to go to bed clean, I sleep better. You can get more natural shampoos (real natural, not just words on a label to sell a product under false pretenses) that do not strip natural oils and allow you to be clean. I was exposed to chemicals back in 08' and ever since have become allergic to countless things, including false perfumes added to shampoos, laundry soap, candles.. etc. I tend to stick to the natural stuff out of necessity.

I hate how my hair feels right after I wash it, so I've gotten into the habit of only washing it once every couple months. I still have to wash it occasionally or else it gets icky, although I'm on the lookout for a better solution. (I didn't care of dry shampoo and definitively not baking soda.)

My hair has gotten much easier to manage since I stopped washing it regularly. I wish I could somehow keep it at the "one week since shampooing" state all the time.
Thanks for this!

Baby shampoo. Nowhere near as harsh as most shampoos, and it doesn't strip all the oils out of your hair and keeps it softer ! (The most of which are good for stopping it drying out). Also cheaper !

Really? I absolutely love the soft and silky way my hair feels right after a washing. If I blow it dry it after washing, when I'm fresh out of the shower, my hair gets insane body to it. It's basically like if it went "POOF". Being a redhead, I'm pretty sure I have more individual strands than a non-redheaded individual, so that might be the reason why. Oh, and in case your wondering, I don't have an ounce of ethnic blood in me. I'm all Caucasian.

However, I don't wash my hair every single day. Usually just once every other day at most.
