Who of you have and use Android Boxes? Specifically the Kodi platform? Was it difficult to set up? How hard and how often do you have to update and change add-ons? How technically savy do you need to be? What is the minimum internet speed that I need? How much did you pay? And where did you obtain it (ie. a proper computer store or big box operation like Best Buy). Can I stream live TV (ex. sports) or do I have to wait and watch the file later?

Whew, that's a lot of questions but I really would like to find these things out. I figure I would save at least $500 a year cancelling my cable subscription.

I have an Amazon Fire TV stick. I'm happy with it. It wasn't expensive and its not hard to use or set up.

We have a Roku...is that the same?

We have the (whatever) Roku 3 I think it is. They also have a streaming stick which we have on the bedroom tv that seems much slower. You literally just plug it in to the power and your TV.

We cut the cable also as it just got so expensive, we're coming to the end of our "free" hbo subscription and will just keep the internet (whatever is on, you can get on the Roku anyway). I believe we pay about 45 a month for wi-fi

Updates are automatic. You can browse channels and add them. Some are free, some are partially free (you pay for some shows), some you pay for the entire channel. I can also watch what I want on my laptop.

Streaming is the way to go.
