No, I never have. I've made a number of friends through social media, who I email and post to every day or two, but never met any of them. Met a guy on social media who was schizoaffective like me, and I suggested we get together for a coffee and chat, but he flaked on me. So that was my one experience trying to meet a social media pal.

Omg, that is scary stuff. Good for you not letting it put you off online dating.

I've met a few. I realize I much rather let online friends stay online friends. Its not that I think people lie or that I lie to others, but when you meet someone in person, you oftentimes find that they're nothing of what you envisioned as the mind tends to fill in the blanks of what you don't know or can't know unless you meet them in person. I guess I rather be able to keep that online friendship as opposed to risk it and likely have everything just go away. But maybe this is just me?

I met my publisher and my editor after working with them by email for quite a while first. Several other friends too.
