I don't know why it is so peaceful to watch a live webcam of April the pregnant giraffe. They have soothing music playing with the live feed. She is sort of restless but not yet in active labor. The Dad Oliver is in the next pen and they interact. I think he is comforting for April to have nearby. It is the most soothing thing to just have on in the background. I have never been captivated by a YouTube like this before.

I was amazed to learn that when a baby giraffe is born it has to drop 6 feet from the birth canal to the ground. Somehow, baby giraffes survive the drop and survive!

I live quite close to animal adventure, the zoo April and Oliver are at. Awesome place. Went to a fund raiser for their wolves a couple years ago. I plan on visiting this spring!

Actually this is the proper live link. The other was a recording from March 4th. Anyway no baby yet.
