For some of the things "normal" people do, I wonder if normal is even a good thing.

how do you define, "normal"

do you base it on behaviour, or experiences, or something else?

if you looked up normal in the dictionary, what would it say?

is their a true meaning to the word anyway?
everyone has their own, "normal"

for example:

I could say, well, I live in a house- that's normal

but then take say... the homeless, who might not ever have had the chance to live in a house, living on the street is normal for them, because they don't know any diffrent

what is normal

I have never felt normal. I even recognised this as a preschooler. I see 'normal' people do some pretty outrageous things that side by side I would be recognised as the normal one.

My question was rhetorical but I guess if I have to choose a single definition, it would be "anyone not diagnosed MI".

but what about physical disabilities

trying to think of an example..

blind people, perhaps. they don't feel normal because they can't drive a car

or someone death not being able to listen to music

or even people without certain limbs unable to do certain activities

i'm just saying it probably goes beyond MI

It does go beyond MI...I'm just speaking in terms of MI only.

I was deaf in my left ear until I was able to get an implant to replace my hearing bones. Now everything sounds like I have water in my ear, but at least I can hear now.

Sorry folks, I can't help myself sometimes.

Normal definition number 4: a : of, relating to, or characterized by average intelligence or development IQs within the normal range. b : free from mental illness : mentally sound symptoms of paranoia in otherwise normal persons

Thank goodness I'm not normal!

I've never been normal. People know I'm different - all in one day, I can be goofy, angry, bright, insightful, forgetful, engaging, and reclusive. All we can do is not care what other people think of us.
Thanks for this!

Agreed. Who really cares in the end what others think. In the end, it's what we think of ourselves that matters most.
