I'm not a terrible cook, in fact I'm a really good cook, but my parents are excellent cooks and they think the bonding time is great and they enjoy me cooking for them. My dad is the best BBQer around and he promised me that this summer he'll help me carry on the tradition of a classic BBQ'd steak done right!

Big huggs, LL, I have found cooking to be a very good way to express love for your significant others, as well as being excellent therapy.
For me, it's a very joyful thing to share what I've prepared with friends and loved ones. I have some of the best emotional associations and memories over the course of my life that come from breaking bread together. Let us know how the barbeque lesson goes! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

That's great. I tried that with my daughter, but she doesn't know how to deviate from a recipe and does everything exactly in order. (She doesn't read ahead to know that she has to preheat the oven, for example. I have to rewrite the recipe to say to turn on the oven first.) I think it might be her ASD.
Still, I taught her my spaghetti sauce recipe and now everybody in the house knows how to make it. (In case I get sick or depressed, since this is my comfort food.) |
