I just got off of a 14 hour shift and I am waiting for my dinner (frozen pizza) to be done cooking. How was everyone's day? Anyone else work a crazy long shift?

Just worked 50 minutes... feels like I've been here 14 hours. By that reckoning I have 132 hours to go today.

When I was working as a computer design engineer & we had a deadline to meet I was knoen to work 80 hour weeks. After a month of that I was pretty much dead & needed a week off to recouperate. Couldnt do it full time as I also had a house & family with a daughter that was part of my life too.

Wow, that's cool to hear!
Tomorrow I begin my usual 9 hours shift, 4PM-1AM. My shifts have been tough lately because I'm in an internal volatile state right now as I am overburdened with how I'm going to live my life, as I'm headed towards university in 6 months.

Before I got sick, I worked 84 hours a week 52 weeks a year. I regret it now but I thought I was doing what was needed at the time. Making sure my kids always had what they needed and was planning on retiring when I was about 58. I wanted to travel and enjoy myself. Go to Europe, visit WW2 sites, etc. Well after almost dying twice, 6 different hospitals, 4 surgeries, last one they gave me less than a 20% survival rating. So everything I busted my *** for, for years was gone in flash. Lucky, lucky me, to beat the damn odds!!

Every Tuesday I work a 12.5 hour day, but that's the longest I ever work. Fortunately I really enjoy my job (I work for a library system), and I don't mind long days. I am actually happiest when I'm at work.

That is a lot! I'm down to 40ish hours a week. I was working over 50 before we got more staff. It use to just be me and my employer lol.

Before I got sick and had to apply for disability, I was a truck driver and typically worked 14 hour days 7 days a week. I would do it a month at a time, come home for 3 days and go back out and do it over again. This is a typical routine for many drivers. Some stay out longer!
