The amazing Gregg Allman passed away today at the age of 69.
He was an amazing singer, songwriter and musician who will be missed
by millions of fans.
RIP Gregg, Sail Away

I remember the Allman's brothers band.

It's funny how that was their big commercial hit when IMHO it was
one of their worst songs.

Thanks for this post, fishin'. I'm so, so sad. He was too young. Damn.

The first time I heard The Allmann Brothers was in my older sister's home, back in 1971. I was about 10 years old. I fell in love with their music right then and always have been. My sister died this past winter; she was a roadie for decades, and she was only 69.

Have you seen the great film "Rush" with Gregg Allmann as Will Gaines? Unforgettable.

I love whipping post. My favorite song by them. "Sometimes I feel like I'm dying!"

RIP Gregg.

I can honestly say, that I can only recall hearing a few of their songs. I was always listening to Led Zeppelin and KISS when I was younger and continue to do so to this day. I do listen to some other groups but not many. I have missed a lot of great music in my lifetime........RIP Gregg.

I think it is so cool that President Jimmy Carter and his wife went to Gregg Allman's funeral. Pres Carter said he owed Gregg because The Allman Brothers had given a benefit concert for Carter while he was campaigning. Carter said, "Back then, more people knew Gregg than me...he did a lot for me."

I know. I thought that was cool too.

Gregg was one of my idols. Actually met him, a couple centuries ago.

Great bluesman, and a nice (if slightly goofy, which was imo a large part of his appeal) man. Soul Shine,
Chyia
