So, my battery has been dead for quite some time and I have finally had enough with plugging it in everywhere I go. It is getting ridiculous.

I have ordered batteries online before because of the cost, mostly remanufactured ones but has been several years since I ordered any.

I am low income and most of them, even the remanufactured are priced out of this world.

Does someone have a reputable website that they purchase their batteries from?

Amazon? Ebay?

Basically what I do is I go onto Amazon and find the battery I need, and look at the reviews. I discard any product that doesn't have a whole lot of reviews on it, or mostly bad ones. If I see what I need and it has a lot of good reviews, and is also a good price, I buy it.

That's what I did when I needed a new battery for my phone.

I purchase mine on eBay, and I am fairly good at finding decent prices without buying junk. If you might post your machine brand and model either here or in a PM, I will take a look to see what I might be able to find.

Well, I just received one I had ordered off of amazon, and the thing is dead. I charged it for days and stayed at 0% charge and I have to send it back for a refund. I will have to wait until I get my credit and try and get another from somewhere else. This place had really high reviews.

I thought maybe someone knew of someone or a company that they have done business with in the past that I just go ahead go thru them.

Ty everyone.

It is quite possible your problem is in your computer or the AC adapter/charger rather than the battery. To check that out, you will need to try a different AC adapter/charger to see whether any battery charges, and then the power board inside the computer would be the next suspect if a different adapter/charger makes no difference. A local computer shop should have their own adapter/chargers and possibly even a different battery for making those tests, but then they might also expect to be the ones to sell you whatever might be needed.

oh dang ok, u are so smart never thought of that. It is very possible my cord is shot it is a used one and I have had it forever. It might be worth a try rather than sending this back and paying shipping costs.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

Not in any technical way, just from some trial-and-error experience. I had an Acer notebook that drove me nuts since a different battery occasionally made the difference -- I ended up with three -- until a new adapter/charger seemed to actually fix things...then I had to replace its power connector and all was again well for a while, and then a few weeks after that the entire machine went dead and no battery or adapter/charger could get it to start. I believe a motherboard power-card problem had been an underlying issue all along, and hopefully that will not ultimately prove to be your own case.
