I have several ideas for stories bouncing around in my head but none of them seem very ground breaking.

One story was supposed to be a YA novel set in a post apocalyptic future where Satan himself had taken over the earth, and made New York his homebase for the end-times.

Meanwhile, a teenage girl whose mother died when she was a baby and whose father's identity is unknown (the only clue to his identity is a small gold trumpet shaped pendant on a gold chain that she wears) starts having dreams of flying around the sky with huge white feathery wings, and when she wakes up, she finds snow white feathers around her bed and close to her window.

Well, the girl decides to run away from her home, where she was raised by an abusive alcoholic aunt, and finds a community of run-aways including a mysterious dark haired boy who looks about her age, and they strike up a mutual respect for each other. They decide to travel with one another and their respect grows into a friendship, which goes through tests and tribulations.

During all of this, the girl's dreams flying grow more vivid and last longer and are now accompanied by a heavenly male voice calling out to her, until one day when the girl and the mysterious boy are surrounded by a group of imps, the grunt soldiers of Satan, the girl finds that she can actually sprout those snow white feathery wings she had in her dreams. Also, her trumpet pendant glows with a blinding white light when the wings appear. Apparently the pendant summoned the wings forth.

Well, the girl soon after, discovers a huge revelation. She can grow the wings because she is the daughter of a fallen angel who came down to earth and gave up his immortality to be with a mortal woman, and was hunted down by the Devil's Imp grunts and killed because he refused to be a part of Satan's movement to dominate the earth and spread evil and chaos throughout the world.

And if that wasn't enough, she must now make the choice of going to the heavens to join the Athereal Army who is amassing to defeat Satan once and for all, or stay with the mysterious boy that is the only person she has grown to trust and care for.

And that's as far as I've gotten.

I have no idea if my writings are any good for the outside world yet I love them because they reflect my inner world more then any other stories.

If you start with your own enchantment you have nothing to loose, even if the world rejects it. No doubt its also enchanted feeling when someone else likes your world.

Is there a writer's group nearby. This is a great opportunity to get constructive feedback.

I've been writing for years and find the best way is to just go for it. Don't be too judgemental of what you write. You end up doing several drafts and edits anyway once it's done. But you can't perfect what's not there so you've got to get it going first. You'll probably find once you start that the story evolves as you go on and you get more feelings for your characters and plot. I generally try to do some writing everyday even if it's only for a short time. Whenever I've finished something I go over it and probably end up with two or three edits before showing anyone else.

I'd take maybe creative writing class and show it to a teacher or maybe post on
The site where people post stories/ writing and seek feedback or something like that. I know nothing about Satan and flying as I don't read fantasy etc but plenty of people enjoy fantasy stories and would likely enjoy it. It sounds intriguing

The summary you posted has many elements of a good story: conflict (external and internal), high stakes, sympathetic characters, suspense, character development, and so on. I can't wait to find out what the girl decides to do!

Regarding "ground breaking," some of the best stories are based on familiar themes but are told in fresh or compelling ways. Often, it is the author's unique perspective or style that makes a story great.
