Does anyone else think that cartoons have gotten uglier as time has gone on or, is it just me that thinks this ?

I agree--and I some of them aren't even cute or funny.

Well, I can honestly say I really loved the PSAs on some of the older cartoons. G.I. Joe was well known for theirs for example. Nowadays however, cartoons seem to pander into the mindless set with bright colors and whatever else to keep kids attention, rather than are story based.

However, some modern cartoons were really good and had awesome plots and story arcs. The short lived Thundercats reboot was pretty well done. And Teen Titans, before they became Teen Titans Go was pretty good as well.

I wouldn't say uglier-the adult cartoons like Bob's Burgers and Family Guy haven't. I do think that kids' shows today have gotten stupider. Shows intended for 6 year old kids are all about fashion, shopping and dating. Whereas in the 90s they actually taught you lessons and the characters acted their ages.

I say yes. There are still good one like Gravity Falls.

But compared to anime, I say newer anime went even worse. But it just my opinion through.
