I'm a composer, musician, writer (working on a sci-fi novel), and poet. I've also made jewelry and "trash art" (I've taken bottle caps and made pictures out of them), and used digital manipulation on photos to create art. I've also created my own recipes if that counts as an art.

Has anyone heard of Etsy (if it was already chatted about my apologies)? I just mentioned it in another post and it occurs to me it is well suited for this thread too. You can create your own on line store from which to sell things like artwork and home made crafts like jewelry, etc.

Yes! I love Etsy; been shopping on it for many years. Some time ago, I had an Etsy store for 18 months. It was quite successful! I really enjoyed that endeavor.

I have always considered myself a not-so-creative person, since my career took me in a direction that I was working on more technical things over all else. Recently, though, I have been challenging myself to take on some more creative and artistic jobs within my team to some decent success, so you can say that I'm trying to expand myself creatively more recently.

I'm painting rocks with my mother as of right now and it helps me get my mind off of things. Also thinking about getting back into beading again. I've always loved jewelry and creating things my entire life.

I've been dealing with depression and have not been creating. I loved scrapbooking. I have started knitting a scarf but have not finished it.

sewing, knitting, crafting, baking and comics.
I used to play in a small local theatre but haven't found anything interesting where I live now.

Also I consider software testing as a pretty creative job, as I have to think a lot outside the box

OP there's something creative , challenging, rewarding and time consuming that could do just fine and that's making mechanical watches from spare parts, customizing dials and paints for steel/titanium cases but also bracelets, hands...you name it.
Doesn't have to be expensive and there are ways of avoiding to buy too many weird tools. There are whole lots of spare parts to be found all of which are not compatible but can be made to work together (still buying complete mechanisms though it's not like you're going to make your own). There's also a decent modder community to be found online.
Doesn't have to be too expensive but you don't wanna be broke either.... well at least you'll build stuff that lasts and that doesn't end up being a lot of forsaken works at the bottom of a drawer

I've thought about making unique clocks out of stray parts and oddball things. Finding interesting parts and things might be hard out here in the middle of nowhere. And I've never assembled or modded a timepiece. Do you have any links you'd recommend?

for Shazerac: I love that painting. Unfortunately, it doesn't really enlarge very well. From what I can see, you are very good.

How I would love to find the courage to simply tackle alla this stuff, again. I think I just have to justify it to myself, somehow, and it will happen.

Well everything happens online regarding watches nowadays. There is little benefit in doing business IRL as there is less of a choice (not much business going on in the watch community compared to others, therefore stuff only happens locally in places like Switzerland and the rest in mostly international/online), which isnt a bad thing as the internet gives you easy and cheaper access to anything you need. The watch community is already mostly online and the industry is following. As a starting point i recommend forums such as Watchuseek and perhaps watchfreaks (?). Parts and stuff are bought online on specialized sites or ebay (reliable but not scam-free) and you can find proper advice in forums any time of the day before making a move.
Now there are also a fair amount of fake experts so dont trust 'everyone' but they're still a minority and most folks you might meet are honest enthousiasts.
