As in, you do math for fun?

I love to do reciprocal formulas, just to name one.

How about you?

I hate Maths. I have difficulty in Maths. I have a mild form of dyscalculia I think.
Thanks for this!

I like math but I never got the opportunity to develop my mathematical potential, due to a combination of such severe circumstances that I endured as a child that stunted my intellectual development and the fact that the public schools that I attended in middle/high school sucked at teaching math.

Even still, I am still good at math in relation to computers and I am just now realizing my mathematical potential thanks in part to college.
Thanks for this!

I'm not great at math but find it interesting and would someday like to dedicate some time to it. I was taking a class in algebra on edx.org, but I am just not spending my time on it right now.
Thanks for this!

I was once very good at math but this is one of those things that took a hit from my medications. I have difficulty performing even minor operations. I have begun to print off basic worksheets for practise. It is embarrassing. I volunteer a lot and refuse to handle and money.

Not particularly for leisure, though being enrolled as an engineering student, I am well accustomed to it. So long as I am able to concentrate, then generally I do not struggle exceptionally much with mathematics. However, I do find myself excelling significantly more in physics than I do standard calculus.

I did alright in math for a while, but I'm now not that into it. I leave the math stuff to my geeky husband.

I though it was too obvious for me to post here. I adore math. I even make mathematical fantasies. Math is everywhere. Its not just numbers, its a way of describing the world, but on a more obscure level then ordinary language...

Okay, I didn't speak up earlier because I don't solve equations for fun. But I do like using math to problem solve and get things done.

And calculus would be my favorite branch. I think it's cool conceptually and practically.

Mostly sorcerers using math formulas as spells, with every formula having a charge according to its intuited meaning. I dont write about such things because it would be hard to understand and a little pretentious. I am trying to make a writing RP game using some simple math, among other things.

My dad Majored in Mathematics in college, and when I was showing signs of struggling with it way back in elementary school, he took it upon himself to tutor me. You'd think that would work out with the legacy of his mother being a school teacher herself and all.

As it turned out, however, his rather short temper (which I inherited unfortunately) and lack of being able to understand that some people just can't get the utmost basic and simplistic parts of Math, well, it led to some very long evenings with a lot of yelling back and forth and crying on my part. Usually the phrase "What part don't you understand?" was said to me by him at some point during the chaos.

So, because of this "conditioning", I never developed a love of Math. I can respect those who do though, because without them, we'd never have developed the world of Physics, and thus, know next to nothing of the world around us, of how the planets and stars move and interact in our own Galaxy, and how our galaxy and many others move and interact in this vast Universe.

I love watching shows like "Through the Wormhole with Morgan Freeman" just to see the ways Physicists use Mathematics to help explain not just human nature, but environmental nature on a variety of scales. It's fascinating how you can plug some formulas into an equation, solve it, and discover something new and exciting about our world and how we perceive it.

So yeah, while I won't be solving Math problems for pleasure any time soon, I'll always respect it as a crucial part of what Humanity has evolved to do: use our innate and very strong sense of curiosity to explore, discover and gain as much knowledge about everything around us we possibly can.

I managed to squeak through a year of calculus math before that was easier....just couldnt get the calculus....but needed a year of it to get my computer science degree back in 1978 along with my Accounting degree. The only math I do now is making sure my budget is balanced each month & that there will be money to pay for huge expenses in the near future.

I'm the total opposite of a math person. Got a D in Pre-Calc even with a tutor. Math is certainly not my strong suit. After basic algebra I get lost.

I find maths interesting but never really applied myself to it fully in high school. It's my sister who is the real mathematician in the family.... she got a PhD in maths.

Hell no. I tried taking a statistics class this past summer and the teacher might as well been speaking another language. I never have understood math, I don't like it
