By raising your legs and lying on your back, you cannot sink into quicksand. (I can't help but wonder how many people they went through to test this.)

Jan...on Survivorman and Man vs. Wild (I watch both!), I've seen techniques for getting out of quicksand, but never about raising your legs, since the legs are probably first to sink!
