Total Eclipse 2017!!!

Is there another thread on this (I didn't see one..)? This is going to be so cool. Nashville where I live will have the best view in the country!

Nice! I'm getting about 80% of the Eclipse here, very exciting day!

It's past the zenith now. It was pretty cool.

How did everyone watch it? I had a pinhole camera and a rear projector using reversed binoculars onto a screen.

The stupid clouds decided to pop up during totality blocked the view from my house. So we only got to see the partial part. damnit.

I do not live too far from Nashville myself, so it was rather cloudy here as well. Still, the coloration outside during the eclipse was quite captivating.

We had a Thunderstorm,We saw nothing.

I live about the middle of Ky. The total ended around Bowling Green. We had 95 % here. Our Library had 200 viewing glasses to hand out & had many activities available for kids as the time for our 95% was around 2:30pm . They also had a room that was showing the NASA real time feed across the nation which was very educational.

I thought it would be boring just watching it at home on my farm. Much more fun viewing it with the community. I was too late to get the viewing glasses but shared with my friends & I actually got a great photo with my phone camera using the glasses over the lense. Only one photo turned out perfect. The others were rather fuzzy & the shadow wasnt clear on them. It was a great experience. We didnt have any clouds in our area though there were thunder heads all around on the horizon so we got a perfect view of the 95% & a great experience with how it lowered the light & cooled down our 90°F day by about 10°.

Great experience & fun to share with friends. I hadnt heard about the librsry until yesterday so it was last minute planning on my part & a 10 minute drive into town. Glad I decided to go.

I didn't think I was going to watch it, but as the house darkened and the time for it drew nearer, the nerd girl in me HAD TO check it out, at least online. (We're in S. Ontario, so only had a 78% eclipse viewing potential).

Lo and behold, it DID turn out to be fun, and a great reminder of the amazingness of cosmic events.

We had about 70% here in N.J.
At 2:45 it seemed like the evening but it was no big deal here.

My husband constructed a device with a piece of cardboard, a pair of binoculars, a small camera tripod, and a couple sheets of paper. Worked really well. As my aunt said, my grandpa would be proud. So would his grandpa.

One of my co-workers had a pair of the special glasses. We took turns passing them around. I thought it was way kewl! I missed my hubby though. He was an astronomer. He would have been beside himself with excitement yesterday.

My daughter & her husband were in Oregon for the eclipse and found it just fascinating. I was happy for them.

We had 80% here where I live...it wasn't a big deal, a little disappointing, just seemed like a slightly cloudy day for a few minutes. And some drunk jerk with no insurance slammed into my husband's parked car just after the eclipse.

*sigh*

It's been a challenging summer

I had seen a partial eclipse back in '94 when I was in 4th grade. However, that experience paled in comparison to this one. Totality was beyond compare. The greatest natural show on Earth!!

My mother invited me and a good family friend of ours to come to the mountains with her to view the Eclipse. It was an amazing and spiritual experience!! I took these pictures with my phone using the eclipse glasses the friend provided as a filter. The one of the totality was taken without the filter, and it was amazing!!

The weird part was that my 4 year old android phone could take pictures when the newest iPhones had trouble doing so. Therefor, my pictures were very popular and everyone wanted me to send them off to their respective emails and phones.

The eclipse was so lame lol i made the cereal box viewer worst idea every haha
Only got to see a small dot of light and a shadow of the moon covering the dot was the size of a pea literally :P

Obviously you didn't experience Totality...
