This is mostly just a thread to help me keep my sanity and not do anything too drastic...

My hair is super long. It goes all the way to my hips now. I have an appointment scheduled to get it cut to a shorter length, a nice cute bob, but that's not until the beginning of October. I sometimes just want to take a siscors to it but I know that will make it look awful and super choppy. I just need to hold on until October. Just a couple of weeks to go. I can do it!

Wow, that's long! Mine is just two and a half inches below my collarbones and that's the longest it's ever been. I just can't seem to get it to grow unfortunately.

I'm pretty much committed to see just how long my hair can grow, almost as an experiment... Although I haven't been considering the possibility that it might continue indefinitely. That's possible, right?

What complicates the matters is that it's asymmetrical, with the right side visibly longer than the left, and somehow kind of less curly (unless that's just a side effect of the length difference). I actually also had an urge to take scissors to it, at least to equalize, but the experiment has to continue. Plus, I don't quite look as strange as I feel yet.

Oh, yeah - around the collarbone on the left, a bit below the chest on the right.

Wow I had a dream last night that I cut my hair and it turned out great
My hair is really long too, almost to my waist. I need to get it cut but I can't seem to get my a@@ in gear to call my stylist. Must of the time I wear up in a bun. Since the I'm 62 my hair is silver gray it makes me look like an old school marm. But I don't give a fluck!

Braid it loosely in one or two braids before you sleep. Tight braids will be uncomfortable. It'll make your hair less knotty in the morning and add some light waves.

I'm trying to grow my hair out to see how long it will get, too, but I agree, the care is the hard part.

Why do you have to wait until October?

Ah,I get the urge to cut my own too, but it has never turned out how I imagined it in my mind ahead of time.Rather than cut it yourself why not schedule an appointment somewhere else?

I NEED to get mine cut too,it's close to my waist and it's very annoying. It seems like every time I look in the mirror I have something in it,usually whatever I have eaten, like oatmeal or mashed potatoes.

My hair line retired and moved pretty far south and some hair relocated to my ears
so now I just shave it down to stubble every couple of weeks
The truth is I really don't mind and I think it looks pretty good anyway.

I once had shaved my hair (when I met a shaved person whom I found trustworthy and admirable), and another time when it started falling out after a stressful period... First time I felt kind of empowered because confident people go like that. However, with hair falling out in patches it's easier to mask the problem with curly long hair. And then those patches started growing back gray, which, I though, added a cool factor.

My hair is frizzy not wavy so i keep it just below shoulder length & keep it up with fancy clips. I hate my hair short because its nothing but friz then. At least longer i can keep it smothed back. Even whenbI blow dry it, within 15 minutes in this humid area i live it, it endsbup frizzy. It I just let it dry naturally it looks like what people pay for to have a perm.....seems we always like hsir styles opposite ofbthe hair we naturally have.

I am trying to grow my hair long. I have never had hair that is mid-back length.
