I just got my lip pierced. It hurt like hell, but I think it was worth it. I'm scared of it getting infected though, have any tips on how I should keep it clean?

They told me to use listerene after I eat or drink...Is that enough?
Thanks. :-)

I've never gotten my ears done, so I wouldn't know. I got my eyebrow done and I didn't feel a thing. My lip hurt like hell, but only for a few seconds and then it was over.

Just wondering, did you get it professionally pierced? I always like to ask, cause I'm nosy like that.

This is a nice site for piercing aftercare.

I don't know though. I got my nose pierced a while ago, which is much easier to care for than I can imagine an oral piercing would be.

I've gotten so many things pierced, it's not even funny, so I'd be willing to help you out in this area.
Since the lip is a fleshy part to pierce, you should def. keep the original ring or stud in for about a month. Take a q-tip and use liquid antibacterial non-scented soap (I prefer Dial) and run it around the base of the piercing, inside and out. Do that about three times a day, after eating, as well as swishing with listerine or warm sea salt water. keep rotating the ring, and try not to touch it too much. Ice the piercing if it becomes swollen, and enjoy!

^ They told me to use Dial for my nose... But that doesn't seem like a taste I'd want in my mouth! Got pierced!
