Hello fellow PC peeps!

I thought I'd start a thread on what you wish for and want to have happen or achieve in 2018! It's not too early to be thinking of the new year and what's to come this next year! =)

For me, I wish for a far better and full-time job that I will love and will want to stay in for a long time... for the next many years!! The last time I stayed anywhere for more than two years was 10 years ago!

I also wish for a healthier lifestyle that involves more exercise -- this is problematic for me, so I want to work on exercising more.

I also want to move out of my parents' home once I get a full-time job again and have my own apartment again!! I crave my own space.... this has been hard on me.

So, these are my goals!!! Job, health and an apartment.

I also want to love more, give more and open myself up more to life and life's experiences!!!

So, what do you want to work on in 2018? Let's achieve these things!!! I find that by laying it out, it puts things into motion... it's a good thing to think of what you want and need out of life and to think of what your next goals are.

You know what? As difficult as this year has been, when I think about what I'd like next year to look like, a lot of it "more of the same," and that makes me feel a little better about myself. That is to say, rather than kicking off a bunch of new habits, I want to get a little better at some already-established healthy habits.

I exercise daily, but I'd like it to become a little more intense. I keep my home somewhat tidy (tidier than I've ever kept it before), but my work space is a bit messy, so I could focus on that, too. I took it upon myself to go back to talking to strangers more this year out in public, and maybe next year I will try to rekindle a little more of my bubbly, friendly warmth that I feel like I've been missing for about a decade now. But I'll have to take that one especially slow, because it's easy to run out of steam, and retreat back into isolation. Baby steps.

Good luck with your goals, Eve! I think you have a real shot at achieving them. We can do this!

My new goal for 2018 is to sit back and smell the roses.

2017 was difficult because I took on too many responsibilities. I started to do less recently, and it's making me feel wonderful. I learned that I enjoy life more when my whole day is not scheduled.

For 2018, my goal is to implement mindfulness into everything I do.

Ahhhhh... a key to happiness IS to stop and smell the roses! That is such a GREAT goal. Yes, relax, kick back more, take the time that is needed to refresh, to feel good AND enjoy life for all of its beauty and all that it has to offer. THAT is living. (((((Hugs))))))

I never make any resolution before, so here is my first try:
- Money: have a new deposit in my bank, shopping and spending less.
- Study: finishing at least one drawing/writing project that I've started since last year . Then get 6 from 9 band in the (informal) IELTS test.
- Enjoy my life. 2017 is a rough year for me, and I want to enjoy my life better in 2018. I still have no idea how to do this one.

And good luck everyone with the new year resolution.

My New Year's Resolution is going to be the same one I have every year; to not make a resolution. I always break them, then the guilt trip comes, and the feeling of frustration and sadness because I can't keep them no matter what.

So, it's better for me to just be happy with myself and let come what may.

My goal for 2018 is to get the "not yet x" H to agree to selling the house without the need for a court order now that it has a value above the mortgage. I will setyle for the court order though it will make the divorce cost more. Finally get the divorce done after leaving him 10 years ago will be such a blessing. Also get my things out of the house & moved to my farm. Furniture & things I left behind when I was finally able to get out of there.

Also get the fencing done around my field & a run-in shed & get my horse here from Calif.

Last but not least, get my master closet finished so I have a place to hang my cloths instead of hsnging them in wreath hooks hanging on every door in my upstairs.

Just want to get the loose ends in my life tied up & get my life totally centered where I am & love being....far away from all that crap.

Busy year....fencing & horse were supposed to be accomplished this year but Calif issues came up & was afraid to spend money I might need for dealingbwithbthe Calif issues

In 2015, I vowed to myself to see my dad, brother and sister once a year but didn't this year because of my son's situation. Using the frequent flyer miles my dad has accumulated, he generously offered to fly me out to seem my brother and him. I will be spending 25 days in Arizona and Mexico in 2018. My dad is 78 and I have rarely seen him since graduating from high school. This is my opportunity to be with him while he is still with us.

When I get back, my goal is to work and save more during 2018! Hopefully, the long break will refresh and inpire me.

New Year's Resolutions can be awesome, if they're kept realistic. I understand what you mean. I have seen people make the same resolutions for the past 5 years, and they never seem to accomplish their goals for the year.

we're in the same boat here.

I won't be making a resolution either for exactly the same reason.

plus, their's the more important question of.. what do I want from life anyway?

I've still not figured the answer to that one

I have trouble planning new year's resolutions. Things always seem to change by summer or fall. A new job is something I want, though, and a few good projects under my belt now that I'm learning programming in my free time.

To me, goals & resolutions are 2 different things.

Goals are things I am aiming for.

Resolutions are things we promise we are going to do. More rigid than goals that are always dependent on other things that need to happen for the goal to become a reality. Subtle difference.

That's why my resolution for 2018 is to do less than I did in 2017. It seems when I have more time in my hands, I have more energy to focus on my happiness.

I don’t have any resolutions but I do have about a full page and a half of goals for December 2017 through 2018. I’ll prune them down and post them soon.

This is a great thread!

Best wishes for everyone in meeting their resolutions and goals for 2018.

1. I want to lose 20 to 30 more lbs -- and most important not gain any.
2. I want to complete finishing my basement - including adding furniture / storage living space.
3. I want to add to the basement a Total gym type thing so I can get stronger at home.
4. I made a certain amount of money last year passive income. I want to double that this year.
5. I want to try to increase my friends.

That's a good point. I hadn't thought of that.

Oh yes, I had the goal of starting my masters in religion in January. The university is 10 minutes away from my farm. The foreclosure issues in Calif & divorce getting nasty has moved into that space & priority so now hoping to start that the next fall....give myself time to get through the other goals before trying to cram more into my life.
