No, nor do I watch any other awards shows. While I appreciate a lot of the talent out there that make our entertainment, I despise the sort of self aggrandizing these things have become. Hollywood's sense of self importance is becoming silly, IMHO

I can see what you're saying.

For me, its more about just sitting back, and having some fun watching the golden globes. I'm in for the night, and it interests me. I'd make popcorn if I had some.
Thanks for this!

I'm watching some lighthearted romantic thing on hallmark. Maybe after this is over I'll tune in to see Seth, I like him.

I don't watch any kind of these shows either. To me, it just always becomes more of a fashion show than anything.

I agree. It's just an elaborate excuse for clothes designers to show off their work.

Personally, I don't like to watch these star studded galas nor do I care to watch any of the late night shows anymore because I don't like how every time one of these shows or events take place they have to bring in politics and a lot THEIR drama. IMHO, it takes away from the body of work these individuals contributed to and I like to focus more on the piece of work rather than to be distracted by things that take away from the piece of work itself.

One of the movies I like to sit and enjoy is "Devil Wears Prada", I think Meryl Streep did a really good job in that movie, actually she did an outstanding job. I don't want to think about her or her political views when I sit and watch that movie, IMHO, it just takes away from the pleasure I get when I sit and watch that movie and appreciate the body of work itself.

It is of course a 'Fashion Show' to us because we don't have anything of ourselves invested...There is no chance we will be winning any awards at the Golden Globes. But Industry awards nights are fun...especially for those nominated who have the opportunity to get dressed to the nines, drink someone else alcohol, and mingle with their industry friends & foes.. Receiving an award and kudos from our peers is a beautiful feeling. I have won 2 industry awards and I will remember how special I felt for many years to come.

I don't mind or care that its a "fashion show," like others have complained. I think thats part of the fun of watching it.

Congrats on your awards!! It really is a great feeling.
Thanks for this!

IMHO, when these events take place or when it comes to late night TV which is supposed to be entertaining, when these individuals continue to make it a point to focus on a certain individual all they are doing is handing this individual they clearly disdain "control" and domination.

I'd rather see a fashion show than a "let's all sound off about politics." But awards shows are nothing but political soapboxes nowadays, which is why I no longer watch them.
