Surgery is normally the last option that a doctor will go down. Please go back to you doctor if you have any doubts. If you need a second opinion then maybe it's another option especially if it is elective surgery.

There is heaps of negative stuff on the internet to find. Rarely do we see positive things.

I had a second opinion and the doctor agreed that surgery was a good option - it’s arm surgery on the nerve because my hand is numb (ulnar nerve). The stuff I read was frightening because on the pain discussion and the lack of success some had. I think I’m still going through with it though - doesn’t help that I’m alone. Thanks!

The last surgery I had was emergency surgery. I was completely high on hydromorph and fentynal when I signed the paperwork for it. When I was recovering I had bad anxiety about the surgery, even though it was already done.

Knowing in advance must be tough. I might suggest not reading anymore about it if it makes you feel worse. Good luck!
Thanks for this!

It sounds like something that's normal to be anxious about, but it also sounds like you've done a good job of looking at your options and getting a second opinion... that should, hopefully, give you some reassurance.

I think you made a good decision. Good luck, I hope it goes smoothly and that you have a fast and easy recovery!
