What if anything do you do for Halloween? I know some of you don't honor the holiday and that is cool too. I happen to love the holiday and for some reason this year have been looking forward to it all year long. I've had my costume since last year...I bought after they went on sale after Halloween last year. I'm going to be a witch. I got a black dress, green and black striped stockings, a hat (which is to small so I got a wig a couple of weeks ago instead) and yesterday got my makeup.

I am the chairperson of the celebrations committee at my school and we are having a party on Halloween but calling it a Fall Festival. We are planning a chili cookoff, costume contest and a prize walk. We were able to get 70 prizes for these things. They vary anywhere from free sandwich coupons to a 2 person ride on the Arkansas Missouri Railroad trip to VanBuren. I am hoping I win those tickets I've never done that and have always wanted to. If I don't win that I'd like the $25 gift card to Best Buy. I can think of a couple of movies I could get.

Halloween night will be spent laying on the couch watching Ghost Hunters. They do one live event every year on Halloween and this years looks awesome. I've been looking forward to that for a couple of weeks too.

So those are my plans what are yours?

Unfortunately, halloween isn't really a big in Australia.
Shops try and cash in on it though, and advertise it in attempt to sell more sweets.l
I remember going trick or treating when I was 11, and had to explain what the point was to the majority of people who opened the door.
I live in a country town, so things may be different in the larger cities, I don't know.
Its a shame though, because it looks like so much fun, dressing up, then stuffing your face with all sorts of sweet goodness!!!

I bought an "evil" pumpkin teeshirt; the shirt is black and the pumpkin "grin" and eyes (only, no "round" pumpking shape) are orange. I'll wear it tomorrow and to answer the door, etc.

Yesterday I did a little shopping and got a bright orange "pumpkin" door mat and some little decorations to hang on the townhouse wall outside, a little skeleton and some fakey looking chains. I'll clean up the little front yard some today or tomorrow, get the weed wacker and do a "mow" LOL so it doesn't look quite so disreputable. Actually, should leave it and put up some tombstones? LOL

I'll make a pot of spaghetti tomorrow, early and then I'll just have to do the angel hair and garlic bread, 5 minutes work so we can eat before all the activity starts.

I have my ghost-and-pumpkin, light-up headband and my "BOO!" eyeglasses that have a ghost whose eyes light up Halloween?. My door has been decorated for the last month, LOL! I love Halloween. I was so excited last year when I finally moved to a house -- little kids don't come to apartments, usually. When I lived in the same town as my mom and dad, I used to go over there and hand out their candy for them. I just love seeing the little kids all dressed up and the parents getting a huge kick out of it.

I did scare the pants off a little boy once, LOL -- I had this bear mask that looked like it had been ripped off a stuffed animal -- plush and totally non-scary. He looked at me and his eyes got real big and he started backing away. His mom said "It's OK honey, it's a FRIENDLY bear!" and he took off down the driveway anyway. His mom had to take his candy. Halloween?

I used to LOVE Halloween!!! As a kid I even loved it more than holidays with presents because to me dressing in costume was the greatest thing in the world. Didn't even care about the candy (probably because mom only let me eat one piece a day). Got older and it changed... either go to parties or sit with my dad outside and hand out candy to the adorable little goblins, superheros, pokemon, and princesses!

Now that we have the dogs only dad goes out and mom and I take turns trying to keep the dogs calm (they bark their heads off anytime anyone comes near the house!!!).

I went to one party last Friday, and went as a purple butterfly. Tomorrow I'm going as a black and purple witch, and to another party as the same thing on Thursday.
