And it's a lot of family-friendly fun that isn't super hard or requires a lot of previous knowledge.
I can do castle crashers ok somewhat and there's an old game me and my husband used to play sometimes, i think it was called streets of rage or something like that. I liked a game oh ffs I can't remember the name of it. It was a 1 vs 1 combat game. Not mortal combat. My brain is failing me right now. lol.

I just don't have the coordination for stuff. I didn't grow up playing video games like my husband. I think the only gaming system we ever had was an old atari. I remember playing frogger on it. We had a gameboy too, but all I played on that was tetris. Fun growing up poor. What did you play with? dirt and rocks.

My problem is that before buying a PS3, however cheap, I'd still need a TV and a place to put it in... Although I long realize that I would be more comfortable with that setup, because console games are stereotypically supposed to be easier.

Played a whole bunch of Witcher 1 today as a consolation for a dumb food poisoning... Well, it's really not bad as far as my usual issues go. You can essentially play with just the mouse (and press space for pause if you get overwhelmed anyway)... A slight case of quest and inventory overload, but I haven't buckled yet... And after at least 6 consecutive hours I'm feeling pretty immersed in Polish.

Yes. I personally love video games. Wish I could play all day, but I'm unable to because of school. So I settle for night time gaming before I go to bed, even if I'm extremely sleepy, I still try to get some play in. Like you it helps me forget the real world. I usually focus on the character I'm playing and suddenly I become fearless like them. Wish I could e just as fearless in real life.

Hm. I wonder which characters you have in mind. Those that I've played or can currently think of, either hardly have a personality or are so jaded and messed up that you can't really consider them a role model. Like Geralt, for example.

I think games like Ratchet and Clank are more family-oriented. I miss the days of side by side gaming on the same screen where video games brought people together rather than drove them away by sequestering everyone to their own console.

Actually, I haven't sat down to a good console game in quite some time.
I've been preoccupied with other things and on top of that I need to do some cleaning and straightening up in my room before I get back to doing any gaming but, lately I've been thinking about playing some vintage Atari games like Phoenix, Jr. Pac-Man, Space Invaders and Asteroids. I used to be pretty good at Defender and Cosmic Ark too.

Yes I love games. I used to play Asheron's Call: Throne of Destiny until it was no longer supported by Turbine. Now I play Elder Scrolls Online.

Honestly any of them. Like I've been playing Steep(its a winter sports game) and just the feeling of snowboarding out so free on a mountain top. Id be so scared to do something like that.

I've been playing games off and on since childhood, and at times I took long breaks lasting for years if I didn't feel like playing or only had older consoles to play on. These days I play a few nights a week and I'd say I enjoy it, but I also don't force myself to log in if I'm not excited to play that night.

Mainly Final Fantasy XIV, Overwatch, Starbound, Stardew Valley, Borderlands 2. Sometimes classic SNES or Playstation games if I want to slow down with an old-fashioned story and 90's aesthetics.

Having regular people to play with and a variety of games to sample helps.

Right now I'm playing GTA V, Fallout 4 and Fifa 2018. Generally speaking I mostly enjoy RPG type games, the better the story and more open the world the better. Can't wait to get Assassin's Creed, the new one.

I don't have a gaming system, but enjoy watching people play live games like subnautica on twitch.

I have to say that the Witcher game is fun and educational, but I know that by the end of it I'll have burn-out. Inventory management and numerous quests are a real challenge for my OCD. What I think I enjoy mainly is just talking to people around the streets (which feel very realistic and colorful). I kind of wish there were a game made just of that. In fact I'd like to make a game like that, specifically for language learning.

Oh, God, you better not start modding Skyrim, or you'll be there for months. lol Inventory management, item overhauls, and enough DLC-sized mods to effectively double the original game's geographical size.

I kind of went nuts on Fallout 4 myself. Built a 3-story structure from the ground up, using the workshop system, and even used vertical beams like framing, and framed out every single wall. Let's see...there's a fully stocked bar (about 300 static objects placed by hand), a restaurant (another 50 or so), a huge kitchen (about 500 static objects), and that's only the first floor. There's an entire medical wing (including dental office and lab, as well as exam and waiting rooms) on the second floor, and the third floor is a posh barracks for the Minutemen including couches, a shower/bathroom area, pool table, television, posters, books, etc. Whole building is probably north of 2000 static objects placed by hand, and that's just one building in Sanctuary Hills. I was resto-ing the other ones, too, and adding all kinds of stuff. lol

For those who want to preview my manic, OCD work...I crammed well over 5,000 static objects in Sanctuary Hills alone, before I learned about certain mods breaking the previs (basically, Bethesda "refined" it by making all objects but the character part of the "background" so if you use mods to delete something, oops! You broke the previs and introduced corruption leakage into the save game!) If it doesn't display Fallout 4 images, just click on the tab to select the game, and select Fallout 4.

One of my favorites:

Do you enjoy any video games?
Thanks for this!

I've been wondering why the world of Witcher 1 feels to me more alive than the one of Skyrim. Maybe it's just that I'm more familiar with Skyrim and it's Witcher's novelty. But I also think that Witcher feels more proportional. A place termed a "city" has heaps of nameless strangers going about their business instead of a dozen named characters imitating activity around the city square. I've been pondering whether, if I ever get up to making a game with a large number of animated characters, they shouldn't be just nameless "citizens", and whether that wouldn't make them more authentic... And I mean, the issue is just that - do they get a unique name? I don't think they should.

lol Omg, you nailed it exactly with Skyrim! That's why I love mods like, Interesting NPCs or others in the same category. I hated how Whiterun was supposed to be this huge city, and it's tiny. There's a few mods that address this, too, like JK's Whiterun or Autumn of Whiterun (omg, it adds the most beautiful poplars and aspens inside and out). Another great one that makes it feel more expansive is Open Cities Skyrim.

The Witcher series is on my list, as is the Dragon Age series. DA is supposed to be a PITA to mod, though, similar in difficulty to Mass Effect.

Fallout 4 has a mod that address the nameless citizens, too. Makes it much more immersive.

I love mods in Fallout 4 and building/cleaning out settlements, it's very fun and the reason why I have yet to finish the game after a year of playing on and off.

lol I literally set out that one play-through to restore the entirety of Sanctuary Hills, and make it actually look like a place you would want to live. I had SSEX (Settlement Supplies Expanded), Homemaker, and about a half dozen more mods that added way more assets to the workshop including curtains, carpeting (all the houses that were occupied were carpeted), posters, lighting, trees, and more.

One of my absolute favorite shots:

I enjoy games on occasion (last ones I played were Burnout: Paradise, Gratuitous Space Battles, and Cosmoteer). Lately I've been having more fun making games. I entered three game jams (contests) in the past year.
