DragonPhoto,

There is a book called, "The Dance of Anger", which I believe is helpful in understanding why you are angry. Have you done an internet search on "Anger Management"?

Yes and I keep coming to the same conclusion, my anger stems from me wanting to be accepted and make other people happy. That leads to anxiety, which leads to the anger, once the anger is gone I go into depression, and from there the guilt hits me. So with the power of positive thinking and the meds that have finally kicked in.

my husband is struggling with this same problem dragon. his quick temper is absolutely his biggest weakness and he is also trying very hard to get it under control. He rededicated his life to Christ a few months ago and is working very hard to improve and this above anything has helped him.

he has acceptance issues, depression, anxiety, and because of the abuse growning up - he is very quick tongued and defensive. and like you, later feels guilty for things he's said or done. i have seen you post in spiritual so i feel comfortable giving you this advice. don't try to be a people pleaser when it is causing you grief. when you feel the anger or anxiety, just stop right then and pray about it. God is listening and can give you strength. also, atleast for me, that pause, that moment between you and God, is very calming. before you know it, the moment has passed.

wishing you all the best in your efforts to better yourself. it is to be admired.

Recluse,

God has been a very important part of my life, but more now than ever. He has gotten me through quite a few things. I have truly turned myself over to Him, and I know that he works on His own time table. I need to be patient because things will work out. "This too shall Pass". If you need some inspirational words for your husband I really reccommend Leann Rimes new song. The song and Lyrics are posted on my myspace page. When I heard the lyrics for the first time I almost started crying because it was like she was singing directly to me.

God's blessings on you and your family.

Chad

You are doing so well, and because you want your family back so badly I KNOW YOU are going to make it. I have similar issues to you actually, the way you put it in this post, I have been told to learn to love myself, then I won't try so hard to please others, anxiety and guilt will be in the past and My anger will subside. Easy to say I know, harder to do, but we'll get there hun, together, somehow. Keep up the good work, always reach out if in doubt.
