Do you have difficult hair? If so, and you're having a REALLY good hair day, does it affect your mood in good ways and bad(feel better when a good hair day, worse when not,) and go out of your way to keep it looking OK on the good days?

Just curious because I'm sleep deprived and the first thought that popped in my head when I considered a nap was..."NO, I JUST FIXED MY HAIR, IT LOOKS GOOD AND IT WILL BE RUINED FOR THE DAY!"

Now, THAT'S difficult hair...LOLOLOL.

My hair is so fine and thin that I have to spray it. Well, if I lay on it, the hairspray will make it take the shape of pillow, flatten it, make it stick together, etc.

OK, enough random thoughts of a sleep-deprived woman (David and Jeff's dad were both in ER last night...one after the other and I got two hours sleep last night and 4 the night before). I think I need to sleep no matter what it does to my "good hair day". LOL.

Love,

KD

Any time I feel I'm looking good (good hair day, a pound lost, clearer skin, whatever) I feel good, or at least a little better. Unfortunately I don't care enough to make myself look good very often. Maybe I should. When I have an interview or something I style my hair and file my nails and wear a little makeup anddress in clothes that make my less-than-perfect figure look better and it helps my confidence. I think a lot of the time the way we look outside reflects how we feel inside, and vice versa.

My hair is too thick, too... and as oily as a teenagers! Curious (hair issue) I'm willing to give either hair or oil away to anyone who even THINKS they might need it! Curious (hair issue)

My hair is fine, but there's a ton of it, so it fools people -- everybody thinks it's thick. It is also insanely oily, so I feel your pain Tomi! My skin is oily too, which I can't figure out. I'm 42. Isn't it supposed to automatically dry out when you turn 30? LOL I could probably grease an engine with the oil from my forehead!

The stress factor hadn't occurred to me, Clyde, but interesting that you mention it. For the past several weeks I have been shedding worse than a dog! Last time this happened, I was on Depakote, and it's known for making people lose hair in clumps -- but now I'm only on Seroquel and Effexor. As far as I know, neither of them make you lose your hair. But stress? Stress I gots plenty of. Curious (hair issue)

Ha yes and as a matter of fact I had that exact thought yestereday!! I have not had much sleep for days and my therapy appt was last night at 8 and I thought how nice it would be to nap after work... but NO WAY, cuz then I'd have to have time for a shower to re-do my hair before my appt!

And yes it sure does affect my mood. If my hair is crappy so am I. My hair is straight and if not dried at just the right time is flat too. I get 'bed hair' in minutes!

I'm sorry you've had to be at the ER and I hope all is okay! Yes, go get your sleep!! Grab a hat when you wake up!

Oh do i ever have difficult hair! It can't seem to make up its mind whether or not its going to be curly or straight. If i don't do anything it just kind of goes out! And i feel you on the sleeping thing. If i take a nap (which rarely happens though) my hair is no longer tolerable to wear down!

Don't you think everything would be SO much easier if everyone was just bald?

Whew, thanks guys!

My daughters both have fine hair too...my oldest has alot more than I and my youngest has a LOT.

Mine is fine AND thin...always has been. I've never worn a ponytail in my life. PPl would laugh...lol. My hair is probably as fine and thin as you see with alot of 3 or 4 year old children.

Ah well. This morning, as usual, it looks AWFUL and the search for the good hair day continues. hehe

Love yas!

My hair is a pain. It is super thick and grows really fast and is a very dull brown so I have it died a shinier golden brown (I like being brunette - just not my personal brunette) and the worst thing is my hair is really curly - common for us Jewish peeps (one of my friends calls it my Jew-fro... usually I'd be insulted but not from him). Unfortunately even though they are gorgeous curls, the slightest thing makes them frizzy!!! On a good day people are shocked that they are natural, but most days... they are all over the place and full of static!!!!

And I also wont nap if I need to have my hair looking good. I can get it perfect and then just lay down for a little bit and it becomes horrific!

Having a "Cul De Sac" residing on my cranium in my low 30's certainly does make a differance, but its not something i cant deal with.

Yeah, I feel alot better since I got a chop job. Ppl with hair and thin and fine as mine can't have any length to hair Curious (hair issue)

Also, mine WON'T get long...like a dog, it gets to one length after a cut and won't grow past that. Trust me, I've tried. it's the weirdest thing!

Anyhow, I really like this last cut. I can fix it a variety of ways. It's hard for me to make it straight and have it stay because I have a natural wave and one side is thicker than the other, so I'm just off and lopsided everywhere...lol.

Today it's curly all over with a headband in it. I was experimenting and just did it for the heck of it. It's actually cute, but it looks like something a younger person would wear, so now I'm freaking that I'm an old lady trying to look young...lol.

I just have to realize that I'll never be satisfied with my hair and those days I feel halfway decent about it causes me so much anxiety to keep it that way that it's not worth it really. Why can't I just deal with the fact that I have bad hair, do my best and go on? Ahh, something ELSE I need to work on...give me strength. Curious (hair issue)

thanks guys and gals. Curious (hair issue)

My hair is thin, straight and super fine. Grrrrrrrr!!
I keep it real short, cause over the years the top is thinning so much, resembles male pattern baldness.
The whites coming in are nice, gives the brown remaining one's look frosted or highlighted.
Upside, is where I'm balding the white hair makes lest contrast of scalp and hair colour, compared to the brown on top of the balding area where there is more contrast.
So, going white may have it's advantages for us balding ladies,eh? LOL!! Curious (hair issue)
If there is a 2nd life, I pray I come back with a nice thick head of hair, maybe even with a little wave or curl, too.
Happy hair day to all !! Curious (hair issue)

The only problems that I have with my hair is that there is really....
Starting to be a lack thereof
(but that's not my hair's fault, I know that's for sure)

I remember when I was really little, my hair used to be thing and stick-straight, then once I began aproaching pueberty is gradualy became more and more wavy until I had corkscrew curls by the time I was in middle school!

But once I hit about 14/15, my curls just kinda...died
So now it's just a little wavy
Funny how my hair evolved like that
(same thing happened with my mom!)

my hair hardly ever bothers me when I look in the mirrior
I think it looks really good most of the time
My hairstyle is like a 70's flashback
(granted, I wasn't alive in the 70's, but I know what 70's hair looks like because I've looked through old yearbooks)
My hair drives my mom nuts though:
She thinks that it looks way to thing and wants me to put stuff in it to give it more volume
Of course I'm used to my thing hair and don't like it at all when it's 'poofy'.

Clyde,

Oh yeah, that's one thing I like about my hair right now...it's graying nicely and I'm not doing anything about it because I love it! It's lightening up the dull and really doesn't look like gray.

Kaika,

Mine did the same thing at the same ages! Of course, when mine did it we'd just moved to Hawaii and that was the reason for mine or so I thought...

I'm so glad you like your hair. Curious (hair issue)

funniest thing about my hair. it's curley somewhat, naturally. it's nice and all. when i do something physical, even if it's to wrestle with something, my hair ends up looking like i got it from albert einstein. it gets that way every time i clean my house. anything i do physically will make my hair stuck out like einstein's. lol. i don't mind albert einstein or his hair, but i end up looking insane that way. lol.

My hair did the whole change from being straight to curly too! When i was really little (until around 7) i had curly hair, then it gradually became straighter, and then when i was around 14 it went curly again, but now it's going straighter! I'm so confused! I don't know what to think about it anymore! I wish it would just make up its mind! haha

My hair is thick, pleasantly wavy, and does what it is told. If it gets cut "wrong" I don't mind because it is forgiving and the waves cover some wrongness and it doesn't look as bad as it could. However, sleeping on it can cause a need for "water" to tame it a bit as it tries to flip sideways around the ears, darn ears getting in the way! But wetting it and then recombing, etc. will get it to behave again. So, I just wash/wet it in my morning shower. It gets a bit unruly as it grows out (the flipping sideways) and is much better longer when it can be pulled back but I haven't done that for 5-10 years as it's a pain to grow out and I'm getting too old for it to be that long. I quit coloring it for the same reasons, I don't mind the white/gray hair and there's still plenty of brown on top; most of the white is underneath or wings on the side where it looks distinguished LOL, I wish.
