I'm taking a conversation starter from the Game Room (thanks Lavender). I think this one looks fun.

Have you ever been on television or the radio? What's your story?

I was once. It was a fundraiser for the local PBS station that a group of college kids were supporting. I have video of it somewhere of me answering the phone. What viewers don't know is that obscene callers like to call and say stuff and see if you react on television. They made the phone ringing sounds random because of that.

Edit: to add "or in a News Story"

Yeah, they didn’t tell us until we were in the studio. They told us to say, “Thank you for calling K - - - -“ and to hang up the phone as if nothing had happened!

I would have had a hard time with that.

I have been on several TV stations across the country. We traveled every year in Model A Fords, so the news crews were always there. Since I was always in the Rumble Seat, I was an attraction I guess.

As a teenager, I was on local TV a fair bit. They televised high school debating championships, I was on Reach for the Top which was a High School trivia competition, and I played in a band that got televised - usually around Christmas.

In university, I was really active in student politics, and politics generally, so I was in the newspaper a lot. It's overrated, but I do have some good photos from me at rallies, including one that made the front page of the Toronto star.

Hero Dog awards that Hallmark channel does, both my dogs were nominated 4 years ago, they had worked for many years at nursing homes and schools and libraries. They didn't make the finals but someone had contacted our super local news and told them so they asked to do a story, it also made the local paper.

One of them passed away in Oct at age 15, the other is 14 and retired 2 years ago.

It was hard not to make a face! I have video where I can tell I want to laugh or something. I know it was one of those calls because the call was too short!

Oh... I was a guitar player. (I still remember a line from an old TV comedy show, way back then, titled Dobie Gillis: "If you throw a rock into a crowd, you have at least a 50% chance of hitting guitar player.") We played the standard sorts of rock-&-roll songs that were popular at the time. I don't recall if I "sang" (such as it was.) I probably did.

Lol, I’m a pianist, but I play guitar too.

I guess kids today don’t play instruments so much.

I was on Judge Mathis and it still gets reshown time to time. My cousin owed me almost $2000 for an apartment I signed for and going on the show was the only way she had to pay me back. Most people don't realize that the show pays the judgement and you get a little something just for being on it. So she got some money and was able to clear her debt to me. Win win

When I was a kid my first grade class was on Cowboy Bob but I barely remember anything about it.

I have been interviewed on radio back when I was a performing artist and I also have been on local news, interviewed after an incident with the LAPD.

I have also been used in promo videos for different organizations that I worked for. I have been quoted in numerous press releases and ******** as part of my job. I used to think having your name in the spotlight would be a cool thing, then I realized it's just another venue for haters to hate on you. I'm over it.

Several times actually. Once was with the RE agent that sold my mom's house featuring his ability to sell homes. It was on HGTV or something like that. I was still dealing with PTSD from the trauma I went through & kept Leo, my white fluffy american eskimo dog with me & he was on TV with me. The funny thing is that after I sold the house I moved 2100 miles away to a town I didnt know anyone in. I met many people after moving into my farm. The TV show did a replay & a friend said she thought she heard my voice on TV & sure enough she liiked & saw me & Leo on her TV so I know someone other than just me saw it.

Another time a ciuple of years ago I was a major contributer of my time to the care of 3 abused stallions that were under our women's horse group care while the trial was going on. These horses required hours & hours of care & meds & soaking their hooves. Everyone else got burnt out. We moved the stallions to our judge advocate's farm 2 minutes from mine so I just took over all the care. Our group was televised caring for the horses on a local TV station in Louisville. Our DA git the owner to agree to give up the horses in exchange for not going to jail & we were abke to move them to a real horse rehab center. The celebration was an interview at the station that originally filmed us at the first farm the horses were at.

When I was on holiday in France, as a baby, our family was chosen for a documentary on holidays and we got filmed. That included my parents carrying empty suitcases into the resort and me eating a banana. That was my brush with fame.

Yeah when I was about 10 years old I was in a competition with my dog, We had to train our dogs and whoever was the best won. I came second.

My husband was on the national news a few years back when James Bulger's killers were being released, the news crew stopped my husband on what he thought about it and they did broadcast it.

I've also been in audiences and they have shown my face lol.
