It's rough sometimes especially when they find out that you're MI or severely MI in the case for some of us and decide to avoid you and the next thing you know other people start avoiding you too and you start to wonder if you're being whispered about here and there and to what degree and just how many know that you're loony toons.
Hopefully that isn't how it's going for you but, people can really be like that sometimes. That's why it pays to be observant.

I always worry that people will want to avoid me for some reason. That they'll want to avoid me cause of the problems I'm having in life. That's why it's so hard to talk to people.

Sometimes it really is like that too. Most of my family has turned their back on me because I turned my back on God and because I am very insane and make them uncomfortable with my Facebook posts.
I can't help it though. I am extremely honest and I talk about whatever bothers me whenever I'm in front of a keyboard.
In the outside world I am silent and keep it all inside. When people ask me how I'm doing I smile and say that I'm doing good but, it's a lie. Sometimes it's better to just suffer in silence it would seem because the minute you open your mouth you forget about the rules and start to gush and before you know it you've spilled your guts and then, everyone knows that you're crazy and not the funny, silly kind of crazy either. That's how I perceive it anyway.

My opinion is that you look at what wasn't working and adapt your socialization to steer clear of that. Have you stopped to observe and consider what successful people are doing? In particular, try to observe their body language. Socializing is a skill and requires work.
