I remember seeing one or two commercials on YouTube from the 80’s. In these commercials, there’s a small bit of acting, usually just between two or three people. Then a voice over narrator explains the product, and finally they show the actual product up close in its box.

Is this the way most commercials were in the 80’s? It seems so much more simpler then all these goofy music montage commercials they have today.

It's true. They used to display a little class and wittiness. Now it's all super-fast shots and adrenaline-producing music/ sound effects / whatever. Probably because people's attention spans have shortened to resemble those of tiny insects...(yes!, I'm turning into one of THOSE cranky old people!)

A classic..bound to bring back a few memories:

Classic Tootsie Roll commercial

hmmmm, I am having a good laugh at the reference to the 80s as being old, haha. Thank you. No, I don't remember this being the usual. The very famous "Where's the Beef?" commercial comes to mind. So too, the well known 'Plop plop fizz fizz' Elka Selzter commercials didn't fit your mold either. Neither did the cola commercials. take for instance probably the most famous Coke commercial ever (1980) featuring the Mean Green Fighting Machine ..... https://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&sourc...N8ZFOD4xbU2nov
Thanks for this!

I was born in the 90’s. Even 2003 seems ancient to me.

That commercials still on. I really like it. That and the discount tire commercial from the 70’s with the old lady throwing the tire through the window.
Thanks for this!

So this is the very first commercial I remember. It was 1964, so I was 2 years old. I have remembered it all of my life, probably because it terrified me, lol.
