I love quotes. One of my favs is You must strike while the iron is hot. Probably everybody has heard it. The first two words,You must are important here. It seems simple but it says so much about life. It's about opportunity and how the window will only be open for a short time. You can think of an opportunity as a wave of energy which will only last for a short time. Whether people loose interest in an idea you present or if you're making a horseshoe of red hot iron on an anvil it's only open for a short time until it cools.

That is in the same vein as carpe diem, "seize the day"; I like them both though I am not always brave enough to do so. Along those lines, one that I like too is:

"Life is what happens while you are busy making other plans."

So I try to remember to make the most of this moment and not to miss out while waiting for something that hasn't happened yet. This moment may be all that we have.

Or the counter to that "without basic foundational rules we have chaos"

That makes sense where live. We have had so many rainy days it has been very difficult to get the first cutting this year. One sunny day & everyone is cutting their fields for hay.

Laura Ingalls (Little House on the Prairie books) quoted her Pa as saying "Make hay while the sun shines". The quote always stuck with me

I’ve heard that quotation but I’ve not read the LHOTP books. It’s a proverb as old as dirt.

When I read the title of this post, I was reminded of Pope Pius XIII as he implored god/the BVM to bring about miracles. (The Young Pope.) “You must! You must! You must!”

The thing that I dislike the most about sainthood is the repetition.
