I have a little beagle named Little Man. I thank God for him every day. He came into my life as a stray during one of my darkest times. I am forced to go for walks and play even when all I want to do is pull the covers over my head. He makes me smile when I want to cry. And the funny thing is, he looks like he's smiling back at me! Happiness really is a warm puppy!

Pets are wonderful -- dogs and cats! One of the sweetest dogs we ever had was a beagle who we found on a vacation in Arkansas.

Our 4-footed family includes six dogs, seven cats, and two horses. Most of the group were strays or rescue pets.

We have four dogs, two Boston terriers and two Yorkies. I complain about them non-stop. The oldest Boston we got from a puppy mill, it was wrong to support them financially, but what was I to do, walk away and leave her there? Because of this bad puppyhood, she is my baby. When she was a puppy if I was out of her eyesight (and Bostons have poor eyesight) for a second, she'd bawl. When it was nap time I snuggled her in a baby blanket and she laid on a baby pillow and she had to be rocked to sleep.

My last major bout of depression, she was what kept me going. She knew somehow when I needed love and when I needed to be left alone. Always right by my side no matter what, she will not even leave my side to eat (she is a bit chunky but we don't tell her that) there is a food and water dish in my room.

The other Boston is dumber than a box of rocks, but the sweetest dog you'll ever meet. She will happily lick your face for hours on end (I do not think she has long term memory). We got her when we had to put our beloved 14 year old Rott down last fall (It took four and its still impossible to replace her).

The Yorkies have no loyalties. Whoever is the new person in the house, that's who's lap they're on. But at bed time, the oldest is literally wrapped around my head, and the baby in my back.

I really don't know what I'd do with out them. They're entertainment when you're bored, company when you're lonely, a ray of sunshine when you're sad, and a sedative when you're angry. If everyone had a little love bug the world would be a better place. And if my dogs don't trust you, I don't trust you. They've got the best judgement I've ever seen.

I have to agree "happiness really is a warm puppy". I am so glad you have your "little man".

My son moved to his house and took his two pugs with him. Sometimes, when he has time, he brings them over to stay with me for a few days. I miss them sooooooo much. And yes, when I wanted to pull the covers over my head and hide from the world, I couldn't, because when the pugs were here, well they kept me busy and even got me to taking small walks again. Meaning I actually had to go out of the house. Wow.. that was a biggie for me........

My son said he and his g/f will try to get me a pug for Christmas. I wish my son would move back home and just bring his pugs with him. Happiness really is a warm puppy!

AWWWW.............. Sweet Sunshine your baby is just too cute.
I also have a rottweiler and 4 cats and they keep me going when I don't want to. I firmly belive they are little gifts brought to us so we aren't so completely self absorbed in our problems. I know that no matter how bad I may feel that they need me and love me no matter what. Happiness really is a warm puppy!

The stories are too long to post but I have 5 little 4 legged people in my house and four sleep on the bed with another next to my husband. Howvever, puppy Jack russell, Jilly beans does not like the wet and has been discovered, she poops on the blanket for the golden doodle. What babies, i must force them out. Meanwhile they are wrapped around me. They remain my best friennds.

My Molly wasn't a puppy, but she always knew how to comfort me. When I was having big troubles, she would sit close to me. I often ended up on the floor with her! (and she was a big dog, part lab, part mutt)

Our new puppy, Lily, is evil. In a very cute way. We can't seem to potty train her, and her favorite hobby is biting! But she's sweet and cuddly, and if we can just get her trained, she'll be a good doggie. (she's a cocker spaniel)

He is smiling at you. He knows you need him as much as he needs you. Animals feel so much more then people do. Arent you lucky to have found each other. Take good care of your best friend!
