My pdoc is the bestest on the entire planet.
HA. lol. Seriously. He let me rant and rave about my family for almost the full hour, which is something I'm not usually good at. I didn't even space out! (YAY!) I love him. ![]() ![]() Seriously. He's awesomeness. He puts up with my mood swings, and makes me feel normal. I like that. Oh, and the sarcastic humor when I'm in a bad mood also helps. And he brought up the fact I'd make a good counsellor/therapist again. ![]() I want to keep him. Can I? Please?? I know I'll be a student and be able to see him for a few more years (unless he decides to retire soon) ... but I've got a better attachment to him than most Ts. ![]() I also made an appt to go see a previous T of mine in a week... which should be fun. I just need some sort of regularity, because school starts again next week, and I'm already burnt out and completely stressed out and anxious. I won't cope well without some support. I admit I am not perfect and I need and deserve help!! WOOT! Woah. *takes a moment* That's something I've never been able to admit before I started therapy. Yay! I guess it works, huh? ![]()

He sounds great, Christina. Keep him! Maybe you can get psychotherapy from him too. Some pdocs will do psychotherapy with their clients. Do you know if he could do that?

What I get from him is about as close to psychotherapy as he can manage, unfortunately. He's employed through my university, and with a population of ~20,000-30,000 (I can't recall precise numbers) ... and only two psychiatrists... he's a little bit swamped. I consider it fantastic I can see him about once a month! He does run a self-exploration group that I've gone to for 2 years now in a row. He said he wants me to come back again, to learn more about how to interact socially. I never knew I had a problem, except where men are concerned. ![]()

Oh, darn, too bad he has to be responsible for such a large student body. But his group sounds good too, and the really good news is he'll be around for several years. I saw the university pdoc for therapy when I was in college and he was a sweetie too.
