ITT we discuss:

Our favorite video games, from Pong (yes, we know you're out there) all the way up to the latest videogames. Why? Because some of us use videogames to build the reality of our choosing.

For me, it was Skyrim, Fallout 4, and now, Warframe. I'm not going to lie, though, Warframe and Defiance trade places every few months. Pillars of Eternity was another great game, as was Civilization V (haven't played VI yet)

Anyone else? Let's hear your games and why you like them! Feel free to post screenshots--use tinypic to get a url to embed the photos.

Yeah hi wut up

Thought about making a thread of this nature too, but it doesn't seem there's many gamers here. There's a gamer group, but it's pretty dead.

To save from writing a huge wall of text about my favorite games, I'll just say my fav genres and a couple fav games from them.
Survival: Definitely my fav genre lately, which is ironic considering how I manage to survive reality... Fav game in this genre is 7 Days to Die easily. Ark is my most played though, despite the love/hate relationship with it...
Simulation: Close 2nd to survival. Good time consuming games. Lately I've been playing Jurassic World Evolution. Also been eager to play some board games on Tabletop Simulator, but not had much luck finding folks willing to play.
RPGs: Skyrim is a good one, fav of all time is Final Fantasy 6 though.
Story: Heavy narrative games are hard for me to focus on lately, but I do still like them sometimes. Honorable mentions would be Amnesia: The Dark descent and recently Vampyr.
Shooters: So many different ones here. Honorable mentions would be Rainbow Six: Seige, Splinter Cell Blacklist, and Hitman: Absolution. I like the more stalky ones. I used to dig Warframe too, but since they nerfed my favorite frame and my friends stopped playing I gave up on it.
Strategy: I have to be in a specific mood for these, but do like them sometimes. Fav here would be Endless Legend, followed by Dungeon of the Endless.

Looking forward to Fallout 76 and Monster Hunter: World releasing on PC later this year. End of this year I'm gonna have too much to do, right now I'm struggling to stay entertained. Ugh.

Hopefully, Bethesda doesn't blow it like they did with Fallout 4. Made it seem like there was going to be all these great DLCs, and they came out with crappy ones. Some of them weren't too bad, but others...meh. And there's all the buried story lines in the code that they never used...

There's gamers here, it's just that by the time gamers turn to this site, I think their main focus has shifted...

Meh, I never liked Fallout to begin with, so can't really comment on 4 being bad or not. I got Fallout 3 and didn't like the atmosphere or really anything about it and to me 4 looked to be a lot of the same shiz. Only reason I like 76 is because of the added survival mechanics and the environment isn't as Fallout-looking.

Fallout 4's workshop mode was mania-inducing. lol I sank whole months into reworking Sanctuary Hills into a resto-mode. lol Had like three of the houses completely rebuilt, and over 5K static objects in that cell alone.

...found out the game engine doesn't like that many static objects in one cell. lol Plus, there was the whole mess with Bethesda baking all the background objects into the previs, and you'd break it if you used mods like Spring Cleaning that got rid of them...

Ick, that sounds like a mess. I'm not very familiar with modding, I only did a little bit of modding with Skyrim and that was just me re-working existing mods and areas or making followers for myself which is super ez.

I still haven't mastered the GECK, even though I had 235 mods on my skyrim turning it into a walk through Yellowstone Park. lol

You gotta try Warframe, man. PC or PS4, hmu. I'll get you in a clan and you'll be on your way. It's the one game that sort of helps me get my mind off things lately.

I played Warframe when it first came out and since they nerfed Banshee (my fav frame) and all my friends stopped playing I sorta lost interest. It was hella grindy so without people to play with it just got really meh. I've been thinking about getting into it again lately just because so much has changed, but since all I have are old frames and things I don't know how viable I would be.

lol I'm a huge Nezha fan. I absolutely love Nezha's playability. I have him amped up with an Orokin Reactor, and he uses dex dakras and a Hek that's been Orokin Catalyzed and forma'd twice.

Fire, and lots of it. lmao

Comeback to Warframe! The UI is screwy right now as they are trying to make it universal between PC and PS4 so updates are rolled out at the same time. But otherwise, I'm having fun. I love grinding in Warframe more than any other game because it's always a different layout. It's never boring. And the environments? Pff. Omg, it's lavish in terms of detail.

Never heard of Nezha, must be something you new kids got. I stopped playing maybe a month after clans first came out if that gives you an idea.

The environments were nice, even though I'm not a sci-fi person at all, I still found them nice. I might just be desperate enough to go back to Warframe considering I'm so sick of everything else I have to play and recently finished the couple things I was enjoying for once.

lol omg, Nezha is awesome, but you can only get him through clan research. I spent the first year thinking Nezha was female. lmao That was before I discovered the stupid Nezha+trap jokes. Seriously, I go in the chat and try to talk about Nezha, and that's all I hear.

But seriously, he is very fast. Best way to use him is to Spin-to-Win, at least to get him up to level. I'm seriously thinking about forma-ing him, but I'm maxed out of slots and still have 12 points to use. lol

His third power is the one I use the most--Warding Halo puts a 100 point fiery shield around you that sets enemies on fire. lol His fourth is divine spears, which impales nearby enemies, his second is his chakram (you can see it in the pic) which he launches--enemies that die heal you. First one is Fire Walker which leaves a trail of fire everywhere you go. Adios, Infestation, I hardly knew ye. lol

Rember, it's Nezha. Or it's nothing. :P

Neverwinter Nights on the PS4 and PC I'm getting back into again, too. Reminds me of Pillars of Eternity a bit.

Doesn't sound as OP as Banshee was pre-nerf. The mods I had for her made her ult pretty spammable, plus it had huge range, and the only things that resisted it enough that it didn't clear entire areas (assuming high level areas) were the human-looking mobs, I wanna say they were called grenadier or something of the like. I see why they nerfed it, but it went too far me thinks and she became pretty boring and not strong after that.

Kay klem! The Grineer! I'm hoping they buff out Nezha with a Prime, but it's probably going to be another 18 months. Longer for me since I'm not going to just buy it. I'd rather earn it.

It's pretty spammable still. There's some primes out there that have me wondering wth DE was thinking. lol

These pics are from Mystery Case Files: Ravenhearst. A naive young woman gets conned by a demented lunatic who overpowers her and kills her in the end. The next game is to rescue her spirit, etc..... You know, when I was looking at yawl's pictures of your games, I was thinking, Omg, those are so violent, LOL But, honestly, this one is too!

Am female gamer. I don't like to point it out tho because I don't like the way people tend to change when they know.

I don't. I have Complex PTSD and it stresses me out too much! I have been playing for over two years now and mostly check in a few times a day to see who I can help out. It is fun, isn't it? I love it and have made some wonderful friends because of it!

How long have you been playing?

I’ve been playing for about a year. It’s really fun! I have Complex PTSD too and when I don’t feel well I’d turn off the participation

No problem on the tinypic hint. I use them now since photobucket sucks. lol

Another great free site for flash games is Kongregate. I play a bunch on there. You can choose by genre, and they have more genres than I knew existed.

Warframe is sort of violent, but not really super gorey. lol Pillars of Eternity is more of an old-school RPG where you are above and behind. The graphics, though. They're coming out with a PoE 2. Can't wait.

For me, it's always about exploring the environments. I had almost fifty mods adding new territory and expanding old areas to make them playable in Fallout 4. Beantown Interiors was one of the mods that did that, I believe.

I apologize!! I am not very awake yet. What helps you manage your CPTSD generally? Outside of the game, I mean.

No worries I’ll send you pm to answer your question since this thread is about gaming and I don’t want to hijack it

I'm starting to play Neverwinter Nights on PS4 (I used to play it on PC). It's a free game, and it reminds me so much of Pillars of Eternity. lol I love the Dungeons & Dragons game worlds.

Even though this is Faerûn and not Toril (It's Forgotten Realms and not Dragon Lance, in other words), I named my companion Raistlin Majere. lmao Now, where has Elminster gotten off to...?

I highly recommend it for anyone whose never really played this style of game before. It's a lot of fun, and nothing super heavy where you have to follow along closely, but you can.

Anyone try the Kongregate link yet? There's a lot of those same flash games like you see on Farcebook (I know what I wrote...lol). There's easily over a thousand free games you can play--all you have to do is register, and they never spam your inbox.

I tried Warframe today. They sure did make a lot of changes since I last played. Best part is my fav frame, despite her nerf, still seems useful because you can control how long her ult lasts for and there's no CD, and with my mods the range and power aren't horrible. I got a couple free Frames with Twitch Prime too so that's cool, and I love the gun that I got with TP as well. Currently working on leveling the free Frost Prime and the new weps I got with TP. I did find one questline very frustrating though. You have to collect some codex from vaults and if you trigger the alarm you get a very small window to attempt to get them. I'm on the one now where you can't miss one codex of three or you fail. Tried about 5 times before getting too frustrated to continue. It's always some little goofy thing that gets me. The last time the lasers weren't rendering in and so of course I went through the doorway thinking it was clear, but nope... Despite that I almost got it, but the second I matched the puzzle correctly the timer also ran out so it counted as a fail. Arg. Other than that, it was a pretty fun use of my time today. I forgot how much fun it could be, and I just love Banshee's ult so much. BOOM go the enemies. :3

lol It is a fun game to grind. Don't forget to make Ciphers in the foundry so that way, you can just use one of those to auto-unlock the door.

Best gun, imho, for crowd control is the Strun, but the Hek is where the power is. You can make it's four shots into six if you use an ammo drum or whatever it is for shotgun.
