I have a question about housing. If you have depression, Anxiety, and other medical health issues and your property is foreclosed on are you put into a group home ? I was told that If you live in a home that is going to be foreclosed on if it is not sold and is foreclosed on that you will have to live in a group home. Just checking to see if this is fact.

I'm assuming that you're in the U.S. I wish what you've posted is true. The fact is...as far as I know, if your house is foreclosed upon, you had better have a new place to live that you've lined up. I doubt anyone will "put you" into a group home. Think about it...if everyone who lost their house was put into a group home the homeless population in our nation would be significantly decreased.

I agree with Laurie.

No matter your illnesses, if you’re unable to stay current with your mortgage payments and are in danger of foreclosure there is no guarantee that you’ll have any housing at all.

Have you received notice of foreclosure from your lender? If so, you should make plans now to find shelter. If you’d like to aim for a group home (each State calls them by different names) you should contact a local — city/county/State — mental health agency or advocacy group and let them know of your concerns.

Thanks. I was talking to a friend of mine about the subject and that was what I was told but I did not think it was accurate

Likely varies depending on locale, but my general understanding in the USA is:
The foreclosed home will eventually be sold at a trustee sale - any buyer from that sale can then take action to evict anyone living at the home. There is no automatic placement (or right to be to be rehoused) in a group home (or any accommodation at all), but there may be local resources available that may assist with finding accommodation.
