I know it's probably impossible but anyway...
Is there a way to block fb posts containing imagines of animal abuse? I only follow sites and groups that are 99% positive but even these sites post images of animal abuse or bad news about extinction etc.

For example I follow a certain radio which posts 99% funny posts or a tabloid with gossip or practical and health tips but all of a sudden they post a graphic image of a

yes there is. if you scroll onto the offending facebook post some dots will appear to the right of the post, (sometimes its located top right hand corner of the post across from the posters name ) click on that and a drop down window will appear giving you options to hide post, snooze poster (block) for 30 days, or give feedback (report) post

Thank you. Yes I know about this however it's too late I already saw the picture... I'm extremely sensitive to these things, one second is enough for me. Sometimes when I can't sleep at night I have all of these pictures in front of my eyes, and pictures of cutting trees and and
ecological catastrophes... They appear automatically and cause anxiety.

Is there a way I can block this topic before it appears?
I know there probably isn't any ill just have to get used to it :-(

I don't know why these posts got more frequent recently and they appear on sites that should be absolutely safe and not triggering.

you can block the person that keeps posting these upsetting things which will make it so that you no longer see their posts.

you can report the post to facebook using their feedback option then they will look at the post and decide if it goes against facebook rules of spam.

other than that no you cant block something without first seeing it...

think of it like psych central's ignore. you have to see a post and decide whether its something triggering to you and then if so put the poster on your ignore list.

on facebook we dont get to choose what things we get to see ......before .... we see them.

but you can set your news feed preferences based on people you do what to see first before all the crap. it doesnt stop your friends from posting pics you dont like, jst makes it so that others not on your friends list posts are not first on your timeline/ news feed.

when I find a post that is offensive and may not be right like pics of animals being harmed I report them. and if the person posting them is not one of my friends I block them. if its a friend I "unfollow" this makes it so that I dont see their posts ................unless.............I choose to visit their page
Thanks for this!

Unfortunately, there is not way to block a pic on Facebook before you see it. I am active on Fb, but it was definitely not created with mental health in mind .

I was a bad Facebooker. I deleted my account long ago. Never joined Twitter, Instagram, any other social sites... I guess that PsychCentral is my only social media website.
