Numerology ....

If you are into this, I dont mean to offend.. and if your not into it, be aware some people are and it's been their structure with life.

I am not fully on board, but yet I (just today) purchased a detailed reading and have read on free numerology off and on, along with horoscopes for a while. When I was very young my oldest sister introduced it to me,.. even as adults she used to remind me of my sign and why I was the way that I was ... ((I'll miss those reminders)).

I am not sure if it's something I grasp at times to find some ... understanding in away... perhaps right now just in need of a reminder on keep going? Idk..

Perhaps it's silly, perhaps it's something in the cosmos that encourages me to take a gander as a reminder.. perhaps it's just my ever striving to understand this journey called "life".

Whe I am not fully 100% on board, but I did find (and have found) a lot of the information presented to me, very relative to my life.. and strange or funny, one aspect that my detailed report mentions for me to master for success in life is something I've talked with therapists about... maintaining stability with schedules for life.. working on impulse reactions and in short thinking of consequences of impulse... working on not taking on too much of others burdens, not being a perfectionist.

I did wonder while reading, if it's written so broadly that it could relate to anyone? Then I thought a little on it, maybe, but maybe not?

I just wonder if there are others out there, that have found value in such ideologies as numerology and horoscopes?
If so, what's your thoughts?

If you haven't, no need to bash it but feel free to share your thoughts as well.

When I was young I very interested in all aspects of the occult. I was brought up in a non-religious household. But I had an intense need to believe there must be more to life than simply what we see around us. As the years passed, though, this interest waned. Nowadays, although I still think it would be nice to believe human beings are more than just skin & bones, so to speak, I'm an atheist. I accept the explanation for the existence of life on earth that is provided by the theory of evolution.

Homo sapiens are, so far as I can deduce, just one more species that happened to evolve on earth. As the evolutionist, Richard Dawkins has pointed out, the reason we don't see the connection between ourselves & other mammals is because, over time, our ancestors killed off all of the interconnecting species. And if one could rewind evolution & run it again, the chances of Homo sapiens evolving a second time would be vanishingly small.

So such things as astrology & numerology are, as I have come to understand them, simply constructs of human brains that have evolved to perceive patterns in whatever humans see. As the late astronomer, Carl Sagan, was quoted as saying: "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence." Still... it certainly would be nice if there really were more to life than what we see around us day-in & day-out. Perhaps when I pass on there'll be a surprise waiting for me "on the other side." At least these are my thoughts with regard to your post.

I’m into numerology. I”ve purchased several readings over the years. Some better than others. Some I found, were too general. I also read my horoscope monthly & daily. I’ve always done that. I love crystals & stones too. I collect them & also try to wear them every day.

I see 444 and 44 a lot. 111 and 1111. They are apparently a sign of a spiritual awakening. But I tend to see them when thinking about campaigning around mental health issues, and writing, as if I should be a writer and campaigner for that cause.

I do not believe in numerology. I do find it interesting how certain numbers seem to show up often in our lives as a total coincidence.

The first home my H & I bought was on lot 33 of the housing tract. I wanted a large lot & that home was the only one with a large lot.

We took a ski trip to Jackson Hole....was a time share condo sales presentation. Turned out it was a good deal & we bought 2 weeks so se could ski there every winter.....(did it for 20 years). Turned out that condo number was 33.

We tried to sell our first home for years (housing market slump in Calif). It finally sold & we found another larger home not in a HOA. I liked the one model & again wanted a large yard. Picked it by house model & yard size & again it was lot 33.

I ended up finally leaving that marriage. I could have moved anywhere I wanted when I moved. I found the house on a 10 acre farm that I really liked & the sellers accepted my offer. It was the only farm I really liked out of the ones I had looked at. Go figure.....there is a 33 in my zip code.

Total coincidence because i always had a perfectly good reasoning for those purchases.....& didn't find out about the #'s until way after I had made my choice.....but it is interesting

I do not think I believe in numerology, but it's interesting to think about nonetheless.
