One year my sister got into a big fight with her boyfriend and got drunk and threw their Christmas tree out the window then called me up crying. I think at the time I was disgusted with her but I couldn't stop laughing. Threw a big tree right out of a third story window!

One year my mother roasted a massive turkey for a planned holiday dinner party. An hour before guests were due to arrive the phone calls started coming in. One after another people were cancelling on account of being ill. That was some flu bug that year. Not funny, but what was is what followed. Get in the car says dad - a land yatch that seated seven. Down to the local shelter we drove and into the car went five homeless men. That year Christmas Dinner was memorable. While filthy and stinky, with the exception of my mother, we welcomed these men with open arms even giving them the gifts intended for our original guests. Though serious at the time, as the years have gone by the story is always trotted out and accompanied by a chuckle; especially when recalling my mother's reaction.

The year my parents decided to toilet train me they got me underwear for Christmas. I didn’t want to be toilet trained so when I unwrapped the underwear I screamed and threw it across the room.

It probably wasn’t Christmas but once my grandma made a turkey. She liked to heavily season it with paprika. We carved it up and bit in. My grandma practically spit fire, it was so spicy. She realized she had used cayenne pepper instead of paprika. We couldn’t eat it.
