I say jet stream because it feels like that...

I was thinking to myself the other day how much I hate running errands... but then I realized, I don't mind running errands, I mind being forced to run errands when everyone else is.

Today at the store was an example.

All I wanted was some soda. A box of soda cans is kind of heavy. So I go to look for a cart. Silly me, there are no carts left. Fine, I get the box of soda... and go to check out... and silly me there are 15 people in a line. I get into the "express" line and somehow we are less speedy than all the others... but I get up to the front and put my cans down (arms killing) and the dunderhead in front of me is having trouble with their card. Now I am checking out at the same time as people that came in way later.

Literally 45 minutes after I went in, I get out and go to the pharmacy. Long line again.

And on and on.

I just want out of the jet stream. I want to be able to do ONE thing and not have it be done when everyone else is around.

Sometimes I realize I like vacations to do these errands because there are less people around. I can get way more done burnt the weekday.

There are some days and times when stores are less crowded. But it's sometimes hard to figure out what those days and times are. I like less crowded places too.

Of course, if you work full-time, options are more limited.
