asmr(Autonomous sensory meridian response): a feeling of well-being combined with a tingling sensation in the scalp and down the back of the neck, as experienced by some people in response to a specific gentle stimulus, often a particular sound.

people make asmr videos on youtube to help people to relax and fall asleep

I don’t know what just happened but I watched an ASMR video of a girl dragging scissors and a brush over a mic and my brain started tingling like you said wth I was not expecting that at all! Is it hypnosis? Can it harm you? That was freaky!

It's not a hypnosis at all, just what naturally happens to sensitive people. You can get asmr anytime during the day if you tap or scratch something gently :-)
I don't really get the tingling in my scalp but I find it relaxing anyway.
The worst that can happen is you get used to it and it won't work anymore. Then you'll have to take a rest for some time until asmr returns again :-)
