I wouldn’t mind taking up hiking as a form of exercise. I’m kind of nervous about hiking the trails though with all the stories I’ve heard on the news. There’s a nature center near me that’s not too bad. I might go when the weather gets warmer.

I definitely love nature and hope to take some trips to some of the really amazing places in the world--first, Niagara Falls, then the Redwood Forest, etc.

I love nature, walk outside even in the winter. From spring to autumn, I walk in the meadow or forest every weekend when the weather is nice.

I live surrounded by nature. I have a 10 acre farm that backs up to a creek & a runoff stream goes through my woods. I have a mommy raccoon that came a few years ago looking for food. Then she brings all her babies each year & they hang around waiting fir this "food lady" to give them their dog food & other yummy handouts. They take grapes & cookies right from my hand.

A possum comes around with them for food too.

I look out my kitchen window & there are usually 3-4 white tail deer....young ones. Have had red fox visit & coyotes are all around. Once in a while a fat wooly ground hog waddles through & I have chipmunks, mice, snakes & lizards (they call them skinks). Have a ton of birds. My cardinals are the most interactive. When their bird feeder gets empty they sit on my porch roof outside my window & "twit" at me.

I especially love hiking in my woods after a good snow.

After growing up in Los Angeles & moving here....I could NEVER go back to living in a city or even in town. Love living totally surrounded by the beautiful & magnificent nature that God created.

We have lots of great trails close by too for trail riding or hiking & have gone hiking with friends.

In Calif I used to backpack into the Sierra's & did one week long backpack into the Teton's in the Rockies but those were all vacation kind of trips.....not living in it like I do now.

Thank you so much for making this thread, Turquoisetree247! I don't spend much time in nature, I probably should. I believe being surrounded by animals and nature can help us lift our moods. So good for you all! What do you all think? Sending many hugs to everyone

I love the dawn chorus (the song birds sing early morning)

it's strange because I'm scared of them- I can listen to them from a distance though

nice sunsets can be worth seeing too.

I don't really spend too much time outside enjoying nature- especially not during these months, as it's cold and we've even got some snow

Only negative to living surrounded by nature is being woken up at 4am to the smell of skunk that even penetrates a closed up house with the heat on. Those cute little guys have big potent smell....yuck yuck yuck.....not my favorite way to start my day

I love small things in nature like pine cones, flowers and footprints. Sometimes I just stare some little spider or butterfly and think how much details nature keeps in. How everything is so important and complex -like we.
Did you know that trees talk with each other or that plants have ''stress'' when someone rips their leaf away? Nature and stars are like God's language to me. I can't do anything else in nature than wonder, wander and find peacefulness.

I came across an amazing butterfly on the sidewalk in front of my front deck last fall. When the wings were up it was a dull brown that looked like tree bark but when the wings opened it was the most gorgeous bright orange. Love the way nature camouflages itself

Lol....I can relate to that. If the chiggers & mosquitoes stay OFF me while I am enjoying nature....I enjoy it even more.

That reminds me of the 15 year cicadas that I first encountered my 2nd year on my farm. Their incessant buzzing from daylight to dark drove me crazy. They clung to the bricks on my house right outside my bedroom window. But the worst was when I tried to mow my fields on my lawn tractor. I think they thought the sound of the engine was a mating call for them because they swarmed around me so bad I had to quit mowing. Those things were around almost all summer that year. Those aspects of nature though fascinating are not fun to be in the middle of

I love nature. I have a view of a river and a marsh. There are so many pelicans and shearwaters over the river. Watching the birds at my feeder is a joy. I feel God's presence in a quiet, natural place.

The wilderness is my link to the Creator. Sitting on the edge of a trail halfway up a mountain amongst trees looking down upon a lake or ocean - that is church for me.

I like to climb mountains by myself. Usually, there are people around so it isn't dangerous per se unless I take a trail that isn't used a lot. I enjoy the solitude - it is a great contrast to my normal day which is 900 teenagers oafing around with their dramas, pushing, impressing, and overall foolishness. When I climb, it's just me and the mountain.

The dawn chorus in the West Country is music to our ears as is a nighjar warbling in the twilight evening sky, but hiking isn't for me. Speaking for my lovely girlfriend and my daughter, we delight in gold prospecting in the river of our home and that often is quite energetic enough. A day's gold panning is rewarding when outside even in gentle rain, but we have to be clothed for the weather. Just lately it's been too inclement outside to be out.

We have a higher vantage point to watch sunsets. And the moon on the rise or on the wane, depending at the time of the year. Soingbirds keep respectable distance though they are used to us by now. Here in London, however, all we have are ghastly pidgeons and the mess they make.

Like Eskie, I live in the country. I love it. Being outside fills me up inside. There's a line in a song that goes "get my outside on." I ca relate. Some times I'll just go sit in the yard to absorb the outside world.

I love nature so much. Woods, mountains, lakes, rivers, oceans, all of it. It's so relaxing and refreshing to be out in it. I really enjoy hiking but I haven't been in awhile. It helps clear my mind and gives me a sense of amazement at how beautiful the natural world is.

There is nothing more relaxing in my opinion
