I've been googling different things about borderline personality disorder and came across a link to a test on here so I took the test and scored pretty high. 43. According to the rating chart 33 and up is considered severe bpd. Even though the test wasn't scientific what should I believe about the test in regards to truthfulness and accuracy. Or is it just a game?

The Sanity Score here at Psych Central said I likely have BPD. I've been to several mental health professionals for various reasons and none of them ever suggested I have BPD. So I'd take the results with a grain of salt. If you are having mental health problems you should speak to a mental health professional and get a diagnosis from them.

I'm so sorry, Unforgiven1 I agree with 88Butterfly88. Online tests aren't too reliable. However they can be an indication. The only way to know of rusre whether or not you have BPD is to go to a doctor and get a proper diagnosis. If you do have BPD, you'll know for sure and you'll be able to get the help you need. I hope you'll feel better soon. I'm so sorry, I know it's hard. Remember that we're here for you. Feel free to PM me anytime. Let me know if I can do something to help you. Wish you good luck! Let us know how it goes. Sending many hugs to you

Thank you! I do have bpd, however many symptoms I have are more extreme than many I read about in the borderline personality disorder section of the forum. Depression is very severe to the point I can't even walk to the other room some days. Next is anxiety, I want to scream, cry, punch walls all at the same exact time. Then I just shake uncontrollably. Therapy scares me the most of all. I don't think I could handle being around other people like myself very long

Oh okay. Mental health tests for conditions I have always vary for me. I still would take the results with a grain of salt.

Pretty much anything online is a game - they all lack validity and reliability.

Your best bet is to get assessed by a mental health professional. BPD isn't typically diagnosed in one session; it usually happens over a period of time after observing your thoughts and behaviours and their outcomes.

Hello Unforgiven1,

I would say that your answers to the test questions indicate that you felt moody when you took the test. While the diagnosis isn't etched into stone online, I would say that the way that we look at life can be discovered. We can then bring up the online diagnosis to our doctor/s and see what they think. I don't look to get all better online, but I do look for help ~ to get me through rough times.

I have Borderline Personality Disorder, as well as a few other illnesses.
