Thought I'd share a picture of me standing in the snow a couple hours ago. I'm a tv producer in the frozen wasteland of hell.

oh my gosh! snow is so amazing! especially when i had my old rottie. we would play outside in the snow all day. maybe im partial to having days off school too lol. i loooove the cold.

the way i think about it is... if im all hot and sweaty there is nothing i can do about it but feel disgusting. if im cold, just put on more layers. problem solved. plus i love fires and i like the way my hair looks when i have little snowflakes on it lol. makes me "glow" lol

plus in the summer i feel like im forced to wear revealing clothes because its nasty outside and pretty girls make me want to throw up. in the winter i just walk around going "haha! your worst time is my best! haha!" lol.

Any weather that can kill you is bad weather. That and I find cold heavy and oppressive. It's like being smothered and my drama meter goes waaaaaay off the charts.

That's but a dusting! We're getting that tomorrow down here in Maryland, an inch to an inch and a half they say. Something about lake effect from . . . Minnesota? :-)

We just had our first big snowstorm this past weekend too - 10 inches fell. then we got freezing rain on top of it, and then more snow. I almost fell about 20 times on my 10 minute walk to the bus stop. And I just love getting off the Bus and stepping into the big pile of snow that the plow has piled up. I'd like to stay inside and hibernate until April.

Cyran0,

After you get some experience, you can apply for positions in more appealing climates.

just for the info: cold weather doesnt kill people. stupid idiot drivers kill people lol. more people die from heat exhaustion and heat stroke than the cold. usually the kinds of things that kill people in winter are from others own stupid actions, not from the shear cold weather.

Oh my dear Cyran0, I will think of you as I sit on my patio under the swaying palm trees. Pina Colada with a tiny umbrella in one hand and a container of sunblock in the other. The Frozen North

How I do love the snow, let me count the ways.....postcards, photographs, paintings, greeting cards.......

In the end we got something like five inches today. On top of the 10 inches from the weekend, things are kind of a mess. It took three hours to drive home tonight (normal commute is 50 minutes). What really thrills me is that we're supposed to get more snow Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I will happily trade places with any of you weirdos who like this crappy white stuff.

saluki, the cold kills people every year. It's particularly hard on the elderly and the homeless.

Seriously though, funny comments by all and wow do I hate this climate.

maybe its just dayton (and trust me we have tons of homeless and old people there) but i always hear about peole dying from the heat more than from the cold.

plus they are doing this cross country thing of pushing out all the "slum". they did it in chicago by tearing down projects but no one ever thought to ask 'what happens to all those people living in the projects?"

they did almost the same thing in dayton to homeless people. they made it against the law to pan handle. you have to have a license for it. some homeless people would do it just to go to jail for the food and shelter but for a lot of others it drove them away. not that theyre not still homeless but theyre just not in dayton anymore.

my brother is in film and was doing a documentary around this time on homeless people and offered a guy a burger from mcdonalds and the guy refused to take it because he was afraid my brother was undercover and trying to catch him taking food so he could arrest him.

anyways.... im going political (i have a bad habit of that).

i stand corrected, cyran0. i looked it up and more people die from cold than heat. maybe they just report heat deaths more than cold deaths in dayton for some reason.....

sorry for the assumption. so someone mark it down... im admitting im wrong. lol

lol Saluki. I'm always thrilled to win a debate but the truth is, I said ANY weather that can kill you. I hate unbearable heat too.

Is there a climate that's say between 50 and 80 all year round? I don't care if it's rainy but the temperature has to be good.

This time of year always sends me into a depressive, anxious, confused hell (which yes, is normally seen as being hot but I think hell is where your heart is).

Cyran0

Oh, and did your brother ever get that film done?

no, no one would participate because of that damn law.

he has another idea but quickly shot it down. he wanted to be homeless and record it. go through the whole thing and see how long it took him to get back on his feet and give himself a time limit to prove to people that its not just that they dont want to go out and get a job. but he decided that since he knows there is an end in sight he would never have the same experience and it wouldnt be real.

he did go down to LA and do interviews with people after katrina and did a short asking people in compton what they thought the meaning of life is. (he used to live in Pico which is like 5 minutes form compton i guess). hes worked for jerry springer, NBC, Judge Mathis.... all over the place. Now he is working for an online news station and some other program where he comes up with 10 questions and asks random people the questions and then airs the answers online. i should introduce you guys.

Sounds cool saluki. And it sounds like he's had some great gigs. I just realized that if he's working out of Chicago there's a chance we have friends in common. A few of my friends do production work there.

nowhere, I've heard that about San Diego. Hmmm, San Diego?

he has lived in chicago, he moved back to dayton though. he only lived there a few months. he knew mostly people who worked in the same building. i think oprah was in the same building as him too.

he has also lived in jacksonville and atlanta. he did these horse shows. i guess horseback riders buy videos of themselves to do self criticism for the next show. so he would video tape the riders, then sell them back their own videos lol. we also worked for judge mathis. we went around to the court houses in dayton and cinci and northenr KY to get civil court cases that they put on the show. i think last year we had like 8 produced.
