I just saw something about space travel, and that they think it would be possible to take a vacation in to space by the year 2030
my question: if you could go in to space for vacation, (you had the money all ready) would you want to? I would love too. you know I think it would be really interesting their are so many things we don't know about space and the planets, and who knows, their might be another planet somewhere that could support life to me it would be interesting |

Now that you bring that up, I think I've heard about it too. I honestly probably would not want to vacation in space. You must be more adventurous than me, raging vortex.

ps: It's interesting to think about though. Space, planets, stars, possible life outside our planet, all of it.

I guess so a couple of years ago I heard that richard branson was trying to organize a flight to the moon (but it would be really expensive) well, it never happened, but the whole thing got me interested in what it must be like to travel through space why don't you fancy it? |

Maybe they have catheters or something.
But Vortex, can you keep posting to this forum from Space? That seems like the most important consideration, to me.... 😎 |

50 years ago I would have jumped at the chance....now? I'd just worry all the time about running out of air, a tiny rock puncturing the hull, gravity, Gforces on my bones...etc...

ow... those poor astronauts- if they have to survive a space mission with a catheter I've never had one, but I know someone who used to work in a hospital who would always talk about how it was for the patients who did. ow plus: posting to this forum in space... what an accomplishment that would be that said, it wouldn't surprise me if in a few year's time it's possible |

I'm all for space exploration my only concern is turning it into a for-profit tourism market. We haven't even begun to understand the science in outer space beyond stuff like the space station. People talk about colonizing mars and we haven't even figured out a way to get there and not be exposed to harmful radiation. People like to think it's as simple as tunneling under the ground and building some kind of biodome but is way more involved than that. The science is mind boggling to me and I can't even wrap my head around the amount of physics involved in trying to get humans anywhere off of earth. I just think that getting private companies involved and making it A profit driven business, increases the chances for human error or failure, even danger when it comes to safety protocol. Think about the recently grounded Boeing 787’s: There had to be two crashes to get most countries to ground them and our president had to order them grounded because the company wasn’t doing it on their own. The FAA is supposed to be the safety watchdog and they haven’t figured out what the hell happeneed.

Terra Firma for me. Pubs to visit, sea and beautiful views. Places to run, lovely water to dive in to. It is said that if one screams in space, nobody will hear you.
Nope, a vacation in space would be exceedingly boring foir me. I'd miss cricket and snow sports, too.

I'd rather actually do something while there ... science, engineering, exploration.
But I'd settle for a vacation otherwise. ![]() |

And I certainly wouldn't be able to get a G&T while up there. The thought horrifies me!

Never thought of that. Of course! Scientists and engineers together would build the first Steampunk microbrewery in space: The Belle Brewery. Okay then, beam me up, Scotty! ![]()

I would travel to Neptune on Delta but they'd probably take me to Mars.
