You really should watch dr pimple popper on you tube or instagram. You can inform yourself on what it might be, and be more educated on what a doctor suggests to do with it. Dr Lee has really improved over these few years, you want somebody who knows what they are doing. You wont get her unless you live in california of course, but still, i wish you would see what you might be dealing with.

The cystlike thing is likely exactly that...a follicle perhaps that got infected and is now swollen. Your doc will fix you up. I've had swollen neck glands before too...I didn't think much of them at the time and they went away...I did have flu-like symtoms for awhile though. This was back when I was young and not big on going to doctors. Do the follow up ok? You don't need the hassle of worrying...no-one does.

I’m going back to the doctor today. I found another lump behind my ear making it a total of 3. The first two aren’t any smaller. My head hurts so badly today. I have this scaly thing I can barely touch because it hurts. I’m wondering if I caught ring worm from my cats.

My normal doctor says I have an infection on my head. Possibly from a tick bite. He says the infection is draining down into my lymph nodes. He said all the lymph nodes on the left side of my neck are swollen. I thought just two or 3 were swollen. He’s putting me on strong antibiotics for 14 days, and then I’ll go back to him for a follow up. I’m kind of worried about Lyme disease. I’ve heard it’s hard to treat.

But no, it wasn’t a cyst like the ER doctor said. It was a legit infection that got worse as the week went on.

Thanks for updating us MD. I don't know much about Lyme. But I am glad you're being put on strong antibiotics. Do you have a follow up with your doctor?
Thanks for this!

Yes I do. I see him after the antibiotics are finished to see if they worked.

I googled my antibiotic and the main things it’s used to treat are Lyme disease and another tick borne illness called Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. My mom said “wow, he must really think you were bitten by a tick” then she also said to avoid the ER if possible, and just wait until I can see my regular doctor. I’ve heard stories before about ER doctors misdiagnosising and that’s kinda why they are ER doctors and not GPs.

I am glad that you got in contact with your own doctor and that he is now treating you with antibiotics. Knowing you are also being followed up on must be a relief.
