So you have your perfect house. What is the one thing you must have in it?

I'll start. My perfect house is relatively simple. I would love a log cabin in a forest mountainside over the ocean or lake. I don't even mind hauling water and chopping firewood. But, it must have internet.
Thanks for this!

I must have a light and airy library with floor to ceiling bookshelves with sky lights and windows. I’d like a secluded home deep in the mountains or by the water.
Thanks for this!

I want a 5 deep shelf pantry with a big space on the bottom to hold cases of soda and other drinks. I want white wire shelving in it. I don’t even need a walk in pantry, just something that can hold a ton of food.

A very big kitchen with a island and lots of counter space to bake and cook. Also a nice big office with leather furniture and a nice wood oak book shelf and desk. Wifi is a must

I need Internet too. Also, no carpet and a washer and dryer inside the house. Right now, my place is mostly carpeted, but I'm moving somewhere with no carpet. I have cat, so carpet is the worst. It's impossible to keep clean, and I think it contributes to my allergies too.

THIS is the type of question that I have such a problem with. I have so many interests and like so many different styles of things that I don't know what my "dream home" is. Ok I just thought of something........a secret room. Don't ask about color or decor...just a secret room. Let's keep it simple.

- Quiet. It must have *quiet* - no barking dogs, ambulance sirens, or car alarms!

- Bug proof! Well sealed with no creepy critters!

- Be in good shape! My current house is ~50 years old, and I have learned... not only am I not handy, I have zero interest in finding people to fix things. It stresses me out. And *everything* needs fixing.

- Safe from scary people!

- Close enough to interesting things (hiking, but also museums and theaters and restaurants) that it's not a big deal to get out and do things

OMG... I am becoming so much more practical as I age. OK, fun stuff:

- I want one of those little glass enclosed rooms at the top of the house, with a comfy mat on the floor, so you can turn out the lights and stare through the walls and watch the stars... with no bugs of course!

- I'd love at least one big bay window with seating to curl up and read.

- If it were stone, and resembled a castle, I wouldn't complain.
